Asunto: Senior Canadian Basketball National Team

Well it is up to debate - some may argue it !

For SF it is easier right? But not so fast, for any position there is strategy that works best. I believe this should but up to every manager. If he wins than he has good strategy on numbers (so that is why I am not calling myself an expert)!

We may even start a thread just for that. I saw the U.S. Managers involved in the same discussion. No one know, as I saw what is the best training ratio at every position. I am willing to share my thought too! What do you think by starting a new thread for that (if it does not exist)?

Right. My position is that we shall start training young star and be very good in 2-3 years and get rid of some older (old at 23 is strange) players. Nothing to lose given where we are!

I follow the rules they've used in all sports this far. But I won't say what they are as I need all the help I can get.

Bradly MacKay
15 Years Old (Soon 16), 5/6, 365 OR, 185 cm (Expected to grow to 195~ish)
His qualities are: 74/78/78/68/59/82/90, 76%.
Got him on Automatic Practice to be 60/60/70/70/70/70/70.
I also got a Training Facility lvl 12.

I dont know if it's worth keeping an eye on for you guys.

Now the PF position

At PF we have the 2 players with the best overall rating. They also now have a perfect chemistry which make us very dangerous at this position, when both healthy. Our third player is good too. Need to work is chemistry so he could play should anything happen to the first two. After those 3 players, we are weak. We have a young player with the good size but not yet training for this position. So really 3 really pure PF players on the team. Need to work down the depth chart to have at least 4 players that can play at this position at anytime plus prospects.

Current players are:

Jorden Hunt CL 4/6 - 22 - Speedy player with decent technique and blocking ability. Superstar numbers, perfect chemistry.Best OR in Canada.

George Adam : CL 4/6 - 22 - a starter in any other team. Superstar numbers, perfect chemistry, a bit taller(208) than Hunt with better blocking. Has the ability to be dangerous offensively (while lower speed and technique than Hunt) so make him the most talented shutdown player in the world!?. could easily replace Hunt as number one depending of the opponent and tactics.

Reuben Desrosiers : CL 4/6 - 23 - Good size still (204cm). A bit lower than the first in the main attributes (Jum + Agr). Has a speed close to Adam and possesses good shots and blocks (a bit under the first two, but it is not fair to compare him to those two superstars). Could play the number two at anytime. Need to use him more so he gets chemistry.

Troy Cole : CL 6/6 - 18 - 206cm Very good young player. has the size to be the next star at the position. He his currently trained as a C but the NT team still use him as the fourth PF since the lack of depth at this position. Has a better rating at center but he manages to get the first star of the game against Portugal in a recent friendly game. He starts building his chemistry (the best of the young guns). We shall follow is development and see whether he should be moved at C. If this is the case looking down the depth chart and adding a player on the team would be a priority in case of injuries.

PF depth chart

After the 4 players currently on the team, here's what I have on the radar so far:

Clay Ota : CL 4/6 23y (215cm), the tallest he can be at the position. Very good blocker, good numbers in main attributes and still has some speed. Could be very effective as the third or fourth man or as a shutdown player against tallest teams. Formerly on the NT team

Milton Gomez : CL 4/6 22y (213cm), tall, similar size than OTA. Playing for the division one champion's (GOLD FISH) but he does not have a high RAT than others (30) but must compensate (I dot have his numbers details) with good shot and block. Anyway should get close consideration.

Dwayne Hughes : CL 4/6 - 23y (202cm) diminutive player with good numbers but bit low on aggressiveness. Has decent blocking but poor shot. Faster than Ota but not fast as the PFs already in the team.

Maurice Eustache : CL 3/6 22y (206cm). He has the best shot for the position. He's however behind in the main attributes.

Johnathan Williams : CL 4/6 22y (208cm) a 10 points above Eustache in the main attributes but with a less effective shot.

Rene Fry : CL 3/6 22y (211cm) Player with the third highest average quality in the country(91%). He has a great shot and a good size.He has better numbers in speed than JUMP and AGR. worth following him, but so far he his behind the other candidates.

Devon Nesean : CL 6/6 16y (185cm) Still young, full potential. He his over developped in shot and speed. Needs to work on the main attributes and grow. his next year development will be critical.

Lane Herbert : CL 6/6 16y (198cm) Trained as a pure PF. already has great numbers in the most important attributes. He almost get the size for the position. He is on a good path in both size and training. If we had to add one young gun in the team, it is probably him.

Should I have other players on the radar that have good size (between 200-215 or close if younger), OR (close to 400 at least) and rating (more than 30), please let me know!

Mitchell Peer from Gold Fish. 18yr old 436 OR, technique is trained higher then speed and has high BLK. 201cm

My backup PF might be worth taking a look at aswell. Paulger, 420 OR as a 18yr old, 199cm and still growing
