Looney Tony

Thanks lenoir24, Tony has street cred now.

lenoir24

Troy Cole, first star of the game in a one-way game against Portugal (without Hunt and Adam)! The strategy for the 2 last friendly games of the season is to give chemistry to our players and raised our tactics %. We now now know well how to play this team, victories are coming. I'll let you know more before the season's end.

xSakic19x

I just want to say that Cole has better rating at Center. Still he's doing great for the team!

lenoir24

I know, but just because he lack speed. With his size he could be a great PF. He has just barely the size for a C, that is wondering me for the long term in the national team, taller players may pass him. for now I am considering him as a PF because our deep chart is very thin. We have 2 great players and a decent 3rd one. But nothin after that apart Cole. On the other side, I have 5 decent center on the team. That is why for this season I have him at this position. But of course if you train hiim as center, at some point we will have to consider him at this position. will have to figure out prospects for the PF position but it will be sad since for me he has great numbers to be the next PF (and even the size). That said, you are not trainnig him for the NT but for your own needs!

Regarding my management of the NT team this year's, I would like to express my thoughts

I found that managing the NT is hard work. This is a team work, not just the general manager and his assistant but from any interested managers, from scouting to training.

This year we fall short from the qualification. I have to pay for this. Of course European teams are strong. We had to face the last two contest winner, Hungary and the 10th overall the Romania (which we fall 11s short to beat and qualify). We beat a higher team, Bosnia, and confident we will beat this team again in the future. We shall have won the two games again Sweden. We did not, and this is a lesson learned. We shall ALWAYS have a back up strategy ready when trailing. It saves me many times since I figured this out and should not have fall short against Sweden.

lenoir24

And here my conclusions

When Farlen322, my assistant this year and former contender to the manager position told me about his desire to look for the job I agreed to not sign up against him.
Why?
Because I believe in what we built this season and most of all because we need continuity. What did we build?

FIRST - a strategic partnership with the USA team that will help us in the future.

SECOND - a winning (see the game against Portugal to figure out what I mean) strategy that suits our players and use their strength (I’ll publish about it later).

THIRD - we developed our NT database from scratch. We now have more than 75 Canadian players identified, 25 in the team and 50 in the depth chart. We have 31 international players scouted. This work need to continue. Plus we need to communicate more with the manager having players on the team or the depth chart.

***That is why you should support Farlen322 as our NT general manager for the season 6. We need to continue to build our NT infrastructure, identify strength and weaknesses and work on them. With Farlen322’s trust, with your support, I’ll continue the background work that we have started and leave him the strategic choices. I trust him, you should do the same. I am giving him more than my support, I am giving him my time and my work. We both (as well as another manager, Looney Tony) put our team scouting capability at the service of the NT team. That shows our commitment.

I am solliciting managers help building the NT team depth chart. To do so, I'll present by position my own evaluations of the players. Also I would sollicit comments on the depth chart. Is there young canadian players that worth being looked at that you think are or cold become better than the already identified players.

At PG
PG is the best balanced position curerrently, 3 veterans, 2 young players, 2 high chemistry (80+), 1 low (20) and two young players at 0

Players :
Ron Grose (23): Best OR, 4/6 CL decent shot and block. second best passer. Downside, he his the oldest player on the team and he his a small (179cm) . Not always at ease in defense when having taller players in front of him. Maybe better use him on a man-to-man situation? Has decent speed and technic.

Blair Pelletier (22) : Second best, 4/6 CL, best in pass, technic and speed but low shots and blocking habilities. Raising SHO and BLK should be a priority to ensure him the starting position on the team. Best used as a passer along a good shooter on a motion attack. At 190 he can face any other opponent at this position.

Austin Foe (22) : Diminutive point guard (175cm), lowest OR of the 3 PG and a 3/6 CL with lack of shots but decent blocking habilities. He is definitly the 3rd guys on the roster for the postion. His pass, tech and speed are the lowest of the trio. His chemistry is also lower. As soon as a decent replacement is found we should consider dropping him from the team.

Roy Beaumont (18): 5/6 CL and OR less than 25 points behind Foe. He his already catching him on every important aspects, Sho, Blk, Pass, tec and spe. He his lacking experience and chemistry but worth trying him as the third man.

Agustin Fenton (18) : 5/6, OR close to Beaumont but he his over trained on Agr and Jum. His passing is OK, but technic, speed and blocking habilities are too low. Shot is decent too. Unless the training emphasis is put on technic and speed he should not be consider for a spot. He his on the deep chart for now. We may find another PG with less OR but better trained on key habs.

David Stefan (17) : On the depth chart, OR:399, CL 6/6, 181cm. I dont have the lastest numbers on his habilities but I am going to scout him. Could be a good asset if properly trained. Need consideration.

Please guys, tell me what I missed. I'll be very happy!

habsdabest

Stefan is being trained as a SF, every Stat is even, his lowest Q is like 88 or something...I can give u all the info needed on him without you needing to scout

xSakic19x

I'm trainning him as a Center because how hard it is to find on the draft or academy a real center. (because of the heigh) I have only 1 prospect for the center position and he I still don't know if he will be a starter one day.

I could train Cole as a PF(the transition is not that hard) if I find a good center on the market, but even there they are so rare.

lenoir24

Good to know, and yes thanks I'll appreciate having his data (just send me a message). Hope he`ll get to the minimum 190 to be a SF? What is your projection on his growth rate? I guess if it does not meet him you could convert him as a SG or PG?

lenoir24

I totally understand adn my comments are selfish and considering the NT team only. since when we draft we dont know the growth rate of the player it is really hard to find a center that will have a decent size. Has Cole stops growing already?

xSakic19x

Not yet, but I don't think he will grow a lot. Probably max 207cm.

Continuing my evaluation of our NT players per position. This time SG

at SG
SG is a Canadian strong and depth position. Our first three players are playing at an international level. The first 3 spots are hold by 3 good players. unless there is more than one injury within SG players, I dont see them loosing their place short term. We however need to make rooms for a young SG. Some of our SG after the first three dont have the right attributes to play at this level.

Maximus Long: CL 4/6 our best OR at the position. close to 100% chemistry, good experience. Smallest SG on the team with a fair shot and decent blocking. Passing and technical numbers are high, with good speed. He has his place on the team as number one or two.

Bailey St. Jacques: Very similar to Long, similar OR but a 3/6 CL.He has most of his main attributes (Sho, Blk, Pass, tech and speed) a bit under Long's, Better Agr and Jump and more experienced player than Long with a 90+ chemistry. The team number 2 SG at worst.

Brant Masson CL 4/6, as interesting set of strength to challenge the first two. His OR is very similar as the first two (only 5 points under Long). He his the tallest (199cm) and the fastest SG. He has the best blocking (by far) attribute, same shot quality as the other two but he is under trained in the main attributes (Pas + Tec). The downside is his experience and chemistry. on the upside, he could be used as a shutdown player given his size and blocking attributes using the slow attacks strategy.

Jakob Black CL 4/6 OR a bit under the first three, barely used so have little chemistry yet but a lot of experience. His principal quality is his shot that is in the 100. blocking is decent, but a bit under the first 3. Passing and technique are close to Masson's but the main weakness, especially when using motion tactic is his speed. He is slow. He is also small, as small as Long is, so definitely not a shutdown player. He should be used mainly for 3 points shot strategy. Avoid him with motion offense.

Aydan Frank CL 4/6, similar player than Black, great shot (greater than Black), great block (in the 100, the best of all players in the team), similar OR, less experience and no chemistry. The downside with Frank is his poor main attributes that don't even fit with the position. His pass is OK (a bit below Black) but the lack of technique and speed ( well below Black) make him practically unusable. He is too slow and lack too much technique to be efficient. He loses the ball and can't follow the game. We should consider another shutdown option

Allen Belanger CL 5/6 a young player that's still growing. He has decent size, he is approaching the maximum for an SG but should not get too high, which is fine. He has a better shot than the first trio which could make him find a niche in 3points strategy. However, he needs to work on his blocking before being used in a game where other country stars are passing him like a sport cone. His passing, technique and speed are already equal to Black's ones. He still has no chemistry, but getting there in XP since he is used as the starter replacement in his team (BC Bullfrogs).

ON the depth Chart (not on the team currently) :

Alvaro Cormier (23) Depth Chart - CL 4/6 - OR between Frank & Belanger. One of the best passer in the country, above Blair Pelletier. Great shot too. Poor blk, Tec & spe, better than Frank but lower than Belanger. Has good experience and size.

Rodger Salmon (23) Depth chart, CL 4/6. Has better numbers than Long for Pass and Tech. Lower shot and block than the 3 first players. Salmon is a slow player, a technical strategy like continuity offense better suits him. He has more experience than all our players except Lisbie. Getting Shot and blocking training is a must before playing with the national team.

Noël Deschamps (15y) CL 6/6 Young prospect with high-end potential. already 399OR at 15. Still too short, need at least 1 more seasonning before thinking of him in the team

Alphonso Longmore (17) CL 6/6. Just barely get the height to fit the position. Needs to keep an eye on him OR394, still far from the current players on the team, but may worth looking at his current attribute numbers.

Spencer Eberle (23) CL 4/6 - Former NT player. Still has great numbers, fit the position as his main attributes match even our top SG. But he is lacking shooting and blocking abilities.

So again you know any player that should be looked at, please let us know.
working on the SF report.

Reason we lost: Zero Principia players.

PS. I'm happy to "fall on my sword" and focus on my arena for the NT. I'll direct funds there instead of facilities. I already have 3 TFMs and will pop two more once I sign a MS deal.
