When you get a new team you can get player with 15yo and 5/6.. he can be 4/6 with 17yo and 3/6 with 19yo and probably 2/6 with 21yo etc.
When you pull the player he can be 15yo and 5/6 at worst, than 4/6 with 17yo, but 3/6 can be only with 21yo

I really don't know the real reason for that and I only can guess. The best guessing for me can be that they tried to protect players somehow for being doomed at early stage of their career so that they can't fall at 3/6 (which all of us know what it means in terms of training) for 6 seasons. On the other side when you get a player for the start with a team he can be 15-20yo (I guess) and then the oldies (19-20yo got with a team) can preserve the career longevity for the 6 seasons and probably they simple didn't wanted that to happen so they simple removed '6 season protection'

I think they changed it. We used to see 20 year old 3/3 guys on the market, now there are none. Good to know.

how can i turn on sound in ice hockey (my programs are up to date and i have tried that thing written in tutorial and it doesnt work)? im using google chrome and for last six or so months i cant hear a thing, and when i change from tab to tab my game freezes...is there a plugin that i have to download or what? everything works just fine in firefox...please help

there is a difference between player not being on a team and player being on a dead team.
I've been aware of the non-aging players since they aren't on teams. Fine. But why do they C/L drop then? To me, that tells me that the C/L drop calcs are either:
a) pre-programmed and set in stone
b) completely different from the aging process
What I mean by "b" is that the aging process goes through team-by-team aging all players while the C/L process goes by via player ID number.

no, they are not set in stone. It's a different part of calculation. The players that are not on teams don't become "ageless" by design. It's more of a bug than anything else. But it's a bug, that's marginal since these players are not coming back into the game.
Why don't you erase such players? I believe that on that way you will save some space on the server (maybe even speed up the game)...
and when you say space on server and speed up the game, what about PM's in inbox which are like 4 years old. it's nonsesne to me.
