I wouldn't like it if I could easily calculate my 15-year-old youngster's OR at the age of 35. Compared to the hockey gam I played earlier, I actually like the CL system. It's more "realistic" than if you allways knew if the CL is gonna drop or not. Or do you know how good Sidney Crosby will be when he'll turn 35?
If there's a chance that player's CL will drop next season and there's a chance that it won't, get prepared for it! The easiest way is expect it to drop and if it doesn't, you'll get a good reason to be happy

Popaji, don't take the CL drops to heart. It's part of the game. If we could control the majority of the game's aspects, how boring the powerplaymanager would become.
When you started to play PPM, what was your goal? Maybe to win your country's first division? You've accomplished that just a few days ago. But have you really felt happy? Will you feel happy when you win the Cup next season again or will you merely feel relieved because your sponsorship offer is very unlikely to sink?
If we agree that it's the challange that keeps you in this game, not the fear of the "unpredictable", then you should cherish every CL drop you encounter, every weak prospect pull, every 1* sponsorship offer you get, because these are your personal challenges. It's the journey along the way that matters, not the destination.
(p.s. in random we trust. :p)

Why wouldn't you like to have some perspective how would your boy look like 5 seasons from now ? Isn't that the point in planning ?
If you don't like that, you have injuries. They are random too. So you can be afraid will your Sidney Crosby get injured for 21 days or not.
He could get injured like that twice in a row, so you can be afraid again not knowing how big his OR will be with 35.
@Knucklepuck
I wouldn't if everything was in some order. We all know that 3/6 is a point when player gets very bad training, and most managers won't keep them unless they are superstars. As I said, I got a lot of CL drops this season, and it mutilated my team. Player who had 6/6 and 5/6 until he was 22, now with 24 has 3/6. Unfair to me of course.
It's funny you wanna talk about winning first division in my country because I won it ACCIDENTALLY, I wanted to lose, but random didn't let me lose third game. Just look it for yourself if you wanna.
When I wanted to win I league, to win NC, there was random to stop me, when I don't wanna win - random doesn't allow it.
I hate random because "he" gave me much more negative things than positive, and because "he" diminishes my effort as a manager in this game. I can't accept challenge if I'm not in some control of things. Simple as that.

you and I obviously have a different view on what "management" is. Sure you can make plans, but if everything was going according to plan, then there would be no reason for you to log in. You would just set it on autopilot and that would be it.
You have won the CWC and the Serbian league. Do you have the feeling that it was all luck? I doubt it. If you look at this game globally you can see that the best managers are also the most successful managers. And that's because the best managers know how to cope with these "random" events which add an extra challenge to the game.
The conditions are the same for everyone and the good managers will prevail.
No manager in the real world has a crystal ball that will tell him how good a player will be even a year into the future. They can make predictions and the good managers will make correct predictions more often than the bad managers. And that's what happens here as well. To a certain extent you can predict what a player will be like in a season from now.

and why the hell did you want to lose the league final?
I can't imagine other autopilot option than one you gave us for PRO users in training. We couldn't play this game with our eyes shut if things are less unpredictable. You make changes in game, and I appreciate that, but sometimes we can't tell if they are going to last long, (as for lower OTR cuts for promoted teams) hence we can't build some strategy that's going to last some time.
If I predict that a player with 18yo and perfect CL will be good for training also when he enters 24, does this make me bad manager ? Would I be bad manager if I would buy bunch of players (50-100) and then just pick those who haven't drop in CL every season? Since that kind of actions only wealthiest clubs can afford, I guess it automatically means it makes me smart manager. Much better tactic than choosing carefully from few players on market.
My success in PPM is something lot of people don't care reading here about, but since You asked - I got lucky getting all the way through semifinals of CWC concerning energy loss. I played Low, and it payed off. When I played High before, it didn't pay off.
Concerning league final - it's tricky to explain, but let me point out that as NT manager I was the one who always pulled sleeves of other people, to preserve as much energy as they can for WCC. Therefore my opponent in semis and I got a little misunderstanding, and I didn't won it because I was better. I won it because he sent his best players in camp. Having that in mind, and having another manager as my opponent in finals who didn't want to play crucial games with his NT player, made me conclude that I don't deserve championship and that guys who were ready to sacrifice for NT deserve it more. Unfortunately, I won the championship without proper fight and against my will.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about having fixed CL for players, rather model in which a player couldn't have less seasons with CL in one level, than he already had with CL before that.
We still wouldn't know how big CL a player would have in the future, but we could presume when possible drop in CL would occur.
When a player pushes CL of 6/6 and 5/6 for some 7-8 seasons, and then drops to 3/6 after only 2 seasons, it's more stranger situation than the rule I mentioned as an acceptable one.

Question regarding stars. My players have less stars than many in lower divisions, i am in second slovenian. My players play against better opponents than those in lower div. that is why they do not generate as much points. If i understand right, that is the main criteria for raise of popularity. My question is, how do players get stars? Is there some formula or something? Thank you.
i am trying to manage groups on tournament and no chance..always say that wrong number of teams..... last time i had same problem but i was think that is because one manager missing i was wrong that dont work at all ....on football tournaments same thing works perfect..fix this before tournament start....
Popularity is highly affected by winning end of season awards (most points/goals/SV% and the All-Stars)
It is affected by division as well, but the end of season awards has a huge impact.
Look at the high popularity people and you'll see that they won a lot of awards. I had some of my players jump 1.5-2 stars from their awards.
