Yes, they are well aware of changes that need to be made. I would not be surprised if they've been working on enhancements for a while now. Give them time, we wont see any changes til the changeover to the new season anyway.
Last time I asked they were not working because they lost the programmer and they needed someone who can make the analysis of the the ME and make the changes.
I want an update of when they are going to improve the ME and I would like to have more information to know if a player is performing well on a position or not.

As far as I read Vlady interview for Ukrainian PPM Magazine, he said that they lost Debik, and now Vrato is working on football engine. I'm not a programmer myself, but I do know, that these things can be pain in the ass, as now new programmer must understand all the stuff previous one made. I suppose that there are some tags in the code, but whatever it is, I think that Vrato will need one more full season to fully understand the code and that he can start working on it.

Personally i track all my players in a spreadsheet, and have done so since season 1. So, i can see how my players perform in diff. positions. My suggestion to you is track your players yourself.

yes but all you can track is assists, goals, pims, shots, +-, and sv% for goalies.
You cant track faceoffs for each centre, you cant track passes made/not, you cant track turnovers or takeaways or hits. If we had things like that then you could truly understand why you won or lost games and whether players are truly good at a position.
From Guide:
Goalie: keep a good save percentage (we know Sv%)
Def: stop the opponents from scoring by not letting them create scoring chances (would be great if we could know turnovers/takeaways etc or at least would be good to have shots against by line cause i have no idea which of my lines is on against which other lines throughout the game).
Off: create a scoring chance and how often shoot (we have shots, but that doesnt tell you if someone else created a good scoring chance) and then passed to the person shooting
Tech Goal: increase their save percentage thanks to better reactions and good positioning (we know Sv% but would be good to divide into stick saves and others)
Tech Off/Def: defense it is required mainly for one-on-one battles (turnovers/takeways)
Tech (Centres): Technique also helps you to win faceoffs (can we please find out faceoffs for each centre and preferably divided against each centre on the other team)

Oh i absolutely agree, but i doubt the engine tracks things like passes etc, and if it doesn't re-writing it so it does would not be an easy thing to do.

Surely it would be no different to tracking shots. If the shot decision is made then it is tracked. If a pass decision is made then it should be tracked too.

I'm not sure the engine tracks the data like it does shooting. if it did, i would like to think they would give that data to us, the managers. It's only the lack of such data that makes me doubt the GE fully tracks it.
If it's like hockey only events that register stats (shots, cards, fouls, goals, offside) are real. The rest that don't register events (pass intercepted and cleared for ex.) are simply events generated using random players.
That means there are not one to one events? (example, a player uses his technique against the defense of the marker to get free)
