i know. It's just that you said "rarely doesn't mean never" and I was just pointing out that playing games with 0 offsides are not as uncommon as you'd think.
It's not uncommon, at least in PPM, but when you play with so much forwards it becomes even more than uncommon...
You can look at it another way. It's a lot easier for 4 defenders to setup offside trap for 2, 3 or even 4 attackers than to 10 of them. It's really hard to keep track on all of them, so I guess they have given up and never tried it at all

Or
- as I know IzzaX made research and came to conclusion that 1 forward always make more offsides than 2 or 3
- so if we follow that principle - 10 forwards have small chance to be in offside - in PPM match engine
p.s. I am not saying that PPM match engine is good

A long time ago I made that research and when I saw it, I was shocked!!! Anyway, it was a long time ago, I just want to believe that that data are incorrect. I think that if You look now in statistics you will find than teams that have most of the ball in attack will make more offside, and if You have 1 forward You can't have high numbers in attack...
Downgrade of this is, if You have three lousy attackers you can't make so big % numbers in attack, so You will also not have so much offsides, and on the contrary if You have one great attacker you might make more % in attack so you will get caught in the offside more likely, and this is just another flaw in the engine
I'm sad to say that, but that's the truth if you just look at statistics...

That's because he always play on the edge of the offside and up to that, even if he is not so pacy, he still possess a great positioning.
On contrary see his brother, Simone... he never become great as Pippo, just because he hasn't in-born positioning talent - must be that Pippo take all of that from his mothers' belly

In fact most offsides are a result of a bad transition from midfield to attack zone. So having good attack zone possession means less transitions from midfield and less offsides. Bad attack zone possession compared to opponent defense possession means difficulties in keeping the ball in attack. Having good midfield posession on top of that could mean even more tried transitions and more offsides?
Having good midfield means more balls to attack zone, so logically more midfield possession brings more offsides, but also a lot more scoring chances...
can anyone give an explanation why my forward with 360 total skills (40 shooting, 34 technique) is unable to score (3 shots on target, 4 wide) against a 165 skills goalie?
another question, different topic:
why does the match importance have such a big effect (for me anyway) on the amount of shots going on target or wide. When I play on low importance, most shots go wide. When I play on normal or high, most shots go on target. The players are (roughly) the same.
You'd expect about the same ratio, because in league games there's usually a normal vs normal and in friendlies a low vs low. But this is clearly not the case and I cannot think of a reason why. So, hope some of you can.

Shooting 40 and tech 34 seems rather low to me for OR 360 forward. My best scorer with OR 350 has shooting 58 and tech 50, he shoots wide twice as much as on target and he scores half of these on target shots.
perhaps, but he has had a few of these. In some games almost every shot he takes is on target, in some games almost every shot goes wide. I cannot think of any explanation for this.
