I do agree a 4-5-1 is a bit more effective on defense, but not even a 4-2-3-1 setup comes close to the offensive power of a 4-4-2 setup. Its becomes obvious after awhile why strikers are given extra point value for scoring.

True. While I agree that everyplayer on the field (exc. goalie) should have shooting taken into account, a solid 5 man midfield will shut down any 2-striker pair by dominating the game more. But it really depends on how good those midfield players are.

At the end of the day, your probably comparing the value of a 4-5-1 OMC to the second striker in the 4-4-2. The second striker is simply a stronger threat.

For me I now use the defensive version of the 4-4-2 with 2 DMC's. A terrific balance between offence and defense.

That is my preferred tactic also.

Last season was normal, but this season (season 30) PPM really hates the 3-5-2, I wonder why.
