See, I'd love it if you could have different types of teams and make the game more dynamic.
Some teams with a defense first build. Very few shots allowed and from bad angles.
Some teams with offense first (which is what we have now).
Some teams with aggressive first. These would be the broad street bullies. Heavy hitting and punishing teams.
I would also think it would be cool if games had an effect on injury rates. Teams with high aggression/checking would cause and receive more injuries.

There would be few of them who would take that approach. It's just because your team is mostly dependent of SA, and of good market deals.
If SA is random thing - you will get random players and you will never be able to build a team that is specialized for certain tactic. That is if you want to be competitive in I league.
You could turn to market instead, and try to find only those that fit in your plans. And that could be bit expensive.

I think it'd make the game way more realistic. There are players with 300OFF and 6DEF. That's just crazy in real life. I agree with TheChad. Give a season+ warning and add it in. The people who complain will be the ones who train 2:1:1 robots anyways. PPM I know wants to have a dynamic game. Having players that all are built the same is not dynamic at all. I will be the first and loudest person on the train supporting adding off/def to def/fwds.
It does help slightly, just not as much as we would like it to. I agree with Canucks.
Well guide says it is.
"Defence: This attribute is used by all the players to stop the opponents from scoring by not letting them create scoring chances. It is used mainly by defensemen but *it is also useful for forwards who need it in order to contribute to the defensive play of the team."
Nobody really have even a clue what that should mean in practice, or what is influence of it. I have trained it for attackers, but I still have no clue, because I got behind in primary. This is confusing. That is why I support this suggestion, that increase its influence.

yes I totally agree that it is confusing and some people complain about such a thing in the guide.
The most important thing in the guide is right before what your are saying about defnec etc...
"Players in different positions use different combination of skills. For a goalie the most important attributes are goaltending, technique and passing. For a defenseman they are defence, passing and aggressiveness. For a center they are offence, passing and technique. For a winger they are offence, technique and aggressiveness. The shooting attribute is necessary for scoring goals and it is important for all skaters [...]
=>>> The player will reach optimum performance for his position, if he is trained in the above mentioned combinations of attributes. The performance of a player is mostly influenced by his primary attribute. For example goaltending for a goalie. The other attributes also influence the performance, but to a much smaller extent."
^^

It wouldn't be as bad as you think Popaji.
If I have an offensive minded team, then when pulling a high def or a high agr player, why would I keep him? I'd put him on market which evens things out.

If it helps slightly that's good by me! I have my Cs with 35% DEF, Ws with 25% DEF and D with 0-50% OFF. One Dman who mans the PP (seems to always get decent points compared to the rest of the D-core) has 110 OFF to his 180 DEF or so.
Just keep making the game better. We will survive all the changes you make to better the game. Just go ahead and make the cgange.
Making these changes will also help level the playing field a bit more. Adding an attribute to 2:1:1 players that are 300 primary is much more of a task than adding an attribute to 2:1:1 players who are 150 primary or even 100 primary. The top clubs will still dominate, but it will certainly level things a bit.
I can't stress enough how for this I am. Perhaps I shall get a petition going on a thread... thoughts?
