Is it bad that my best defensive winger is a 22 YO I've had since the start with decent qualities at best and a 320 OR? Anybody have a similar situation?

My best scorer is the same: Seymour Carpenter , though I have a player ready to take over for him. He has very good qualities though: 94-88-87-73-79-64-72. By now, he already has nearly 50 experience.

I don't have any of my original players.

I also have ZERO guys who are a part of my starting rotation (and very few that I play even if I'm blowing out my opponent and playing backups) who are below 320 OR.

I'd say it's more-so bad that you have a 320 guy in your active roster than it is that you have an original player still on your team.

I mean seriously, I've gotten at least a handful of 15 year olds who are at least 300 OR this season. If given the choice between playing a 300 OR 15 year old and a 320 OR 22 year old, I think you have to go with the young guys.

Period.

yeah his OR is 320 but his effective OR is like 290. Almost 100 FiP with Almost 70 block 50 tech and 70 speed. My youngsters have great OR but that effective quality added to the Exp just makes him that good for his OR. I used him on just defence and my team goes from 40 to 41 team strength when picked over my 400 OR 15 yo allstar.

Who's gonna be playing in a season or two? Who then does it make sense to give the exp. to?

I mean seriously... aside from the CWC, why do you need 41 team strength? Are you having trouble winning league games with it at 40?

I was actually talking about selecting my line-up for that very key CWC match, so yes. But honestly I've been smiling for the last 120 seconds since I read your second statement, I think it's hilarious!

It was just such a relief to win that match today though. I stayed up until 5 am to make sure I had analyzed everything. I looked at his players, his last 120 matches, his tactical tendencies, his willingness to switch at half (usually nope), his eating habits, his daily routine, his habit of right thumb over left *shudders*, even his own nerves in his brain to gauge his tactics. I knew my chances of winning were less than half a percent if he played high so I prayed really long that he would play on normal, and he did!

Well yeah. Play the guys who will help you win. If its a wash, or if you'll win easily, play the younger guy.

Man... I was just thinking today how disciplined my guys have been this season. Only 1 red card this year. Then bam, 2nd best player on my team gets three 2 minute penalties and is given a red card today 20 mins into the game.

Boy is it frustrating when you hold a team to 24 goals and still lose.

Oh, god. I'm screwed. My starting goalie Oswaldo Rowan is out for 20 days. So he'll miss the first round. Where it looks like I'll be playing the damn Fatty Cats, the only other team to really conserve energy. I'm going to be stuck down here again

What really sucks is I've actually been resting Rowan for the playoffs. He's been backing up the last couple of weeks, only getting a few minutes here and there.

BTW... I doubt you'll have Fatty Cats in the playoffs. I'm thinking he'll go to either me or CMS. I think you'll have Cactus HC in the 1st round.

Have you seen what Cactus' final 6 games look like compared to Fatty Cats? Cactus plays seeds 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, and 11 in the remaining 6 games. Fatty Cats plays seeds 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, and 14.

I'd think that it's likely that Fatty Cats will go at least 3-3 in the final 6, while Cactus might struggle to go 2-4.

Not being mean or anything, but Cactus might not win a single game in the final week. He plays 4 of the top 5 teams in the league next week.

I don't think you could ask for more than a solid chance at playing Cactus. He's a good manager, and has gotten a rather average team into the playoffs, but he definitely hasn't been conserving energy, and is probably the most vulnerable team in the top 8 imo.

It's looking like whatever team I get, will be bad news though. I've had pretty bad luck against Joshua Eagles this year, and I'm not particularly excited about possibly playing Fatty Cats or Quadriplegics.

Even if I finish eighth, your team is still as strong as mine and nothing says I will crush you but I have to confess I love the role of troublemaker.
And as Lansky wrote, I plan to finish seventh.

I'm seriously thinking about renaming my team "Damn fatty cats"
