passing of other players, style of play, etc. only counts towards creating chances, they have nothing to do with the actual finishing, which is purely based on the stats of the individual player vs the goalie.

Of course goalie stats differ, but a player with 80 shooting should score more goals than a player with 22 shooting out of 36 shots on target. No matter what goalie they face. This clearly isn't the case and it is something that troubles me.

What's funny is that both involved managers in above issue have a lot of experience in game.

I know what I had scouted but this guy just seems adiment that I am lying about his players stats and I just wanted to see there was any way to scout differently that someone else or even if it was a bug. I did not want to call the person a cheat or liar for putting up false info. I really thought that their may have been a problem in the game. Based on vlady I guess not.

I had 3 suspensions (all 3 on my midfield, where I ain't got that strong players)

had to put in 2 new guys because of it, but no change in TS, strange ...

Coz there is a lot of talk about penalties I've done a research and collect this data:

Firstly, I collected statistics about penalties in PPM. I processed first 20 leagues according to average rating (from Brazil I.1 till Russia I.1) and collect next data:

Number of penalties taken: 1869
Number of penalties made: 1312
Efficiency: 70%

Number of matches: 6380
Every 3.5 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded

Now, I found the data from beat leagues in the world (it's not that easy to find these data):

English Premier League - season 07/08 (www.myspace.com/ enb17/bl... ):

Number of penalties taken: 83
Number of penalties made: 67
Efficiency: 80%

Number of matches: 380
Every 4.5 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded


Spanish La Liga - season 07/08 (www.myspace.com/ enb17/bl... ):

Number of penalties taken: 107
Number of penalties made: 84
Efficiency: 78%

Number of matches: 380
Every 3.5 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded


German Budesliga - season 07/08 (www.myspace.com/ enb17/bl... ):

Number of penalties taken: 59
Number of penalties made: 46
Efficiency: 78%

Number of matches: 306
Every 5 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded

Number of penalties made: 62
Efficiency: 79%

Number of matches: 380
Every 4.8 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded

Efficiency: 79%

Number of matches: 380
Every 5.5 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded


Brazil Serie A - season 2005:

Number of penalties taken: 135
Number of penalties made: 105
Efficiency: 78%

Number of matches: 462
Every 3.4 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded

Anyway, if we summarize all of these real football date we will get next results:

Number of penalties taken: 530
Number of penalties made: 417
Efficiency: 79%

Number of matches: 2288
Every 4.3 matches exactly ONE penalty is awarded

So, conclusion is simple:

1. Current PPM statistics about penalties efficiency are rather low and are needed to be adjusted from 70% till 79% (9% is a huge number in this case).
2. Current number of penalties is also wrong. Current number of 1 penalty in 3.5 matches is to much and it needs to adjust to 1 penalty in 4.3 matches.

I hope that Vlady will react with some answer on these statistics.


Also, I will appreciate a lot if someone have enough free time to do the same thing for free kicks, yellow cards, red cards or whatever he finds useful to compare PPM statistics to real life football statistics. On that way, we can open the eyes of PPM chiefs so that they can tune up the football engine.
