Pleased, excited and very relieved to have edged out perennial powerhouse Argentina for the rights to host the U20 World's this coming tournament! Here is hoping that we don't bomb spectacularly, now that the pressure is squarely on...

Always good to keep that one card (A Forecheck) way up the sleeve and only pull it out when absolutely needed. It's low. It's dirty. And it worked.

Good work. How are the rules to promote? Do we need to win or is the final 2 up? Would be nice to promote. It makes no sense to me that Canada is not in the main group for that age category. Good for you if you can make things right!

And now it's time for yet another round of Caipirinha!!

For this weekend's Germany game, should we want to play four lines (which we do), we would have to include three wingers with maxed out chemistry. This is due to the extended run at the World's. This would be a very dumb, wasteful thing to do so we have decided to promote three 19 year old's right away. If this looks presumptuous it isn't. We respect how close the voting was in the first round. We are just looking out for the long-term prospects for the team.

There is no reason not to call up players in the first week of the season, honestly. whoever comes in next can dismiss them for the following week. I prefer to provide my successor with a full line-up, personally

Hugely happy to get another crack at the helm of the U20 team! Would especially like to thank those who voted for us and to make peace with those who didn't. Since those who did is > or = to those who didn't we are, therefore, at peace.
We will now immediately move into the scouting/slow twitchy movements/selection phase of running the team.
Here's hoping for another season of roller coaster highs and lows!

We are saving most of our decisions for next week as we still have a decent queue of players on the scouting board. Just for the basics we will take the following six players:

Neath (C) - 19 - Yardware Snakes
Benson (C) - 19 - Microbrasseurs
Irons (LW) - 20 - Black Sheep
Keown (LD) - 19 - Ghost Squad
Christie (UD) - 19 - Neu. Avalanche Switz. II.4
Vaillancourt (G) - 20 - Montreal Magma

Can't say they are the best six guys available but they fill our needs for the weekend. We will post most of the rest of our choices next Friday so, if you aren't happy with us, you might want to save it for then. All the same, we went through the Canadian rosters and the draft history. We didn't spend the huge time going through the transfer wires so if you know of any guys in Europe that might have been missed please do let us know.
