Wow - big day today. Two more early season upsets.

Diables Mont-Tremblant and the Ottawa Smoke Eaters lose more ground on the four undefeated teams with losses to the Magicians and the upstart MAKSA.

MAKSA made the most of their opportunities by scoring 5 goals on a measley 14 shots against last season's top goaltender, Fulvio Duvoisin. Meanwhile the Magicians' Ralph Ezard looked sharp against the sharp-shooting Diables (48 strength!), stopping 29 of 31 shots; that should earn him a spot on the all-star team for today.

Maska picked a good goalie on the market, Koloman Lindner OR of 264. Goaltending strength 35. They will be tough to score on. New players are adding depth to our league. Great to see.

Yikes. Some good goaltending in this league. I need to pull an Ezard or Thrasher type.

If anyone reads this and is interested, I've put 5 players on the market. I wasn't ready to part with all of them, but my roster is over the max, so my hand was forced a bit. The players are serviceable, most of the salaries are reasonable, and none of the contracts are imminently expiring.

Argh! Outshoot WebSimSports 35-20 and don't even pick up a point! Terrible goaltending!

Some wild results early this season.

Pigs beat Magicians. Magicians beat WebSim. WebSim beats Pigs. Pigs beat Diables. Diables beat WebSim.

Looks to me like anyone can beat anyone and that it's going to be a tough race. It'll be interesting to see how Cambridge and the Smoke Eaters fare when they start playing the other veteran teams.

Very competitive. Top 8 / 9 teams are close. Much improved over last year. Anyone in this group can beat the others on a given day. Great crowd for me today. 2000 fans.

I was about to write that the montreal rulers aren't good enough to be considered in the top 8, but they do have a victory over maska, so my apologies for the disrespect.

There are going to be interesting battle at the top and at the bottom of this playoff race. Every point is going to count.

Finally, Petr pulls it together and puts up a >.900 save percentage, but still falls short.

What a tragic finish to a close game for the Raging Pigs. Letting up the game winning goal with under a minute to play. Ouch.

Turnaround being fair play the Magicians score in the last 2 minutes of a tight game to beat Cambridge 3-2. Schedule working great for me. The Ragin Pigs soften up a team then I get to play them next. Thanks PMullings!

It is a quirk in how they schedule. Every team I play is the team you played last. It would be best if you played every game on high and injure as many players as possible.
