I softened up the Smoke Eaters for the Battle of Ottawa. Fulvio Duvoisin is going to be bruised and exhausted from stopping all that rubber.

The all-star selection committee doesn't like the Raging Pigs.

Both games were blow-outs against noname teams. I can't understand it. Can someone explain this to me?

Today was the official mid-point of the season. Congrats to Voltiguers on a huge upset vs Diables Mont-Tremblant - and a huge thank you for helping the Raging Pigs into 4th place.

Now that everyone's played each other once, it seems like a good time to assess where everyone stands, so without further ado...

end of season projections:
1. Cambridge Hornets
2. Ottawa Magicians
3. Undead Challengers
4. Raging Pigs
5. WebSimSports
6. Diables Mont-Tremblant
7. Ottawa Smoke Eaters
8. MASKA

I think any of the top 5 can win it. Of course only the playoffs matter.

WebSim is already 10 points out of first. They'd need to win every game in the second half (possible) and for all of the teams above them to lose 3 or more games (unlikely). That said, they may still be the best team in the division.

The Pigs have a better shot from 6 back, but again, too many things need to go right. I'm more likely to finish 5th or 6th than 1st. My goal was to finish in the top 4 and have home ice in the playoffs. Now, I'm hoping I can creep up to 3rd to avoid WebSim in a 1st round match-up.

I can't figure out how all-stars are picked... Why was my goalie selected? 11 saves on 12 shots isn't anything to write home about. There were 3 shutouts and at least 4 goalies with a better save percentage.

I gave up on the all stars - makes no sense whatever. On the positive side I won today with 14 players in training camp. Keep softening these teams up for me.

Your OTS with 14 players out of the line up is 28? God help us all.

That was going to be a tough game to win on the road, but 4-1 feels like a lopsided score. Where was the powerplay??? What happened to the goaltending?

You had won the last 3 competitive games we played and we needed a confidence boost. The boys all get an extra ration of whiskey.
