Here's a quick look ahead to who will take their place in Div.I next season and how competitive they will be.
Godsoccer, Croydon, Chrode and MaruSAN are all relegated. They will be replaced by the North Brisbane Barbarians, Geelong Muppets, Essance Jets and probably a noname team. The Muppets and Jets both spent two seasons in Div.I previously before dropping down to Div.II. Both stayed active and should return to the top flight in a stronger position than when they left. The Barbarians are a new team founded in June this year. They have performed strongly in a weak division and deserve promotion but will probably struggle next season. Given there seem likely to be a few nonames in Div.I next season, if they can keep ahead of them and avoid the automatic relegation spots, they might be able to build a team that will be competitive in the playoffs and the following season. The 4th team sitting in a promotion spot are The Bob Lads who were founded four days ago and haven't been seen since. If they don't return soon, they will be made inactive before next season starts and another (likely inactive) newbie dropped into their spot.
In the playoffs, Sydney Park will take on the Adelaide Wolves who appear close to giving up so Sydney should probably hold on. Tylko Legia will play either theeels or FC Chezz. This game will be too close to call but whoever wins should be reasonably competitive next season. My money is on theeels. Adelaide FC will play Tasmania Tigers and this game is also difficult to predict. Adelaide is currently the stronger and should win but hasn't logged in since Sep 17 so in danger of becoming inactive opening a window of opportunity for the Tigers. The last playoff spot will likely see the inactive Wooducks take on another newbie/inactive team, currently the Snitzels.
This means next season will probably have at least two inactive teams, Barbalicious and Wooducks with two more likely in the Bob Lads and Adelaide FC.

Good luck everyone in the League Cup which kicks off tonight... Can Colah Creek defend it's League Cup title from last season?... Will True Blue get the Cup back to add to his 5 other Australian 1.1 League Cups?... Or will Knights/Beta/Prestige get their first ones. And who of the remaining players can qualify for the SuperLeague International Cup next season? From 16 down to 8 players in just a couple of hours.
So Trueblue, Beta's and Knights are qualified for Champions League. Colah, Prestige and Spitfires are qualified for Cup Winner Cup. All six made it through to the 2nd round with the Terriers and Parramatta so they will fight it out for the Superleague Cup spot.
Terriers look to have the slight advantage. Their head to head record this season is a win and a draw against Parra. Both have difficult assignments next up. Terriers face Beta's against whom they have a record of one draw and two losses this season. Parra take on Trueblue and lost both their encounters this year.

We were in line to get 4 teams in the Champions League and 4 teams in the Cup Winners earlier in the season, but just missed out... maybe next season.

Very happy to be in the Superleague Cup next year, the third time for the Highlanders. Thanks for playing very low and having a training camp at the same time Beta allowing the Highlanders to win 1-0.
Go easy on me Trueblue in the semi-finals, I've just sent my team off to training camp too before it's too late.

I stuffed up my training camp by putting it on at the same time as national tournaments. Too many players would get called up so I've got players being pulled out of camp to play stupid friendlies. Grr!
PS Congrats on Superleague qualification and a fine season with the U20s

Very tough start to the season with 4 out of 5 matches being to the top sides... losses to Parramatta, Beta, Colah, Knights... now for the comeback!
A lazy afternoon from the sunny Gold Coast!
Whilst we have seen the quality of Aussie teams increase in League I.1, we've seen a drop off at overall numbers across lower leagues. From a high of 90+ during recruitment drives, down to 44 now.
Was thinking about this and I see our leagues at an interesting point. The gap between league I's and our league II's is probably at its greatest... Staying up in league I after promotion is extremely tough, and we're seeing teams give up after there first test... A team that wins every match in league II, barely scores a point in league I.
PPM is a game of patience & perseverance, especially when you hit the phase of stadium upgrades, and it's literally multiple seasons of saving money (where I am currently).
Consolidating league II's should help us add a bit more competition and make it more interesting for those that get relegated down. Perhaps we're at a critical transition period when we begin to create strong teams at the top of league II's. Now we're going to require patient newbie managers!
But I'd love to see a dozen more long term teams at least. The NT players are pretty centralised around a few teams.
Maybe let's try a few things, if you see a new manager who actually logs in more than once, drop them a message and say welcome them. I do remember someone welcoming me like that many seasons ago, maybe that's why I stuck around... I do count myself as patient though
Well good luck in the tournaments this season if you qualified!
PS: selling 4 players now, spend up big please, I'm saving for a stadium upgrade again

I absolutely agree with the idea of contacting new managers. I used to go out of my way to welcome people and be there to answer questions and help them get started. Only reason i kind of stopped was because of a number of big personal things I had going on. Definitely time to do it again though I feel.
Chillaxing day from behind a shinning computer (at me)..
I noticed the drop myself, there were two seasons lately that a lot of managers got in and out in a hurry.
Truth is that for the once that they around PPM for ages is easier to hang around w/less commitment than those that r fresh in here. I can see it myself, I acquired only couple more new player from stronger teams and keep spending most of my money to stadium or facilities last season.
Back in days took me 2 seasons to promote so I could have established my team which might be a best way how to catch up here in I.1. Otherwise it's kinda "closed-magic circle". As without money from top spots in league II. you cannot buy/spent $$$ player, facilities, stadium and w/out that its damn difficult to survive in I.1 where most of teams (13-14) are settled so there r currently couple of spots to grab.
And once a while team that gets hold in I.1 is not patient enough to hold for 3-5 seasons to be able to finally compete fully w/our 4 TOP teams.
This design works perfectly for larger community such as most European teams that have 4th or even 5th tier of league, unfortunately for a smaller community like ours or NZ it is difficult to hold wide-league system. I exchanged quiet few emails to PPM top members and I got an answer which I was hoping not to seen. There used to be Oceania Soccer League (Aussie, NZ++) that option is not possible any longer since we split, unfortunately
If most of us keep annoy PPM with working on a solution for us, it might eventually take a place and might not...
The best way to increase our league, new managers, seems to be only one that BF mentioned already - encourage new managers!
Some had written to me too. I guess, that might be TB
He was the one I keep exchanging msgs for a long while as, answering my questions... my point???
I does help increase keep players interested that's for sure. Also, very helpful was to have someone fresh to compete, like you BF, that helped me to keep around too!
I agree 120% with u mate, most of the teams that have promoted quiet easily to I.1 have an issue to hold in. The best for our Aussie league would be if we could have only one 2nd tier league so II.1 then (III.1, III.2).
Thanks for listening ((=

Out of interest, and particularly those older teams, so how much money has your team earned since it was established....
Looking at "total revenue" figure, (Team -> Finances) I'm a billionaire!
Highland Terriers = $1,133,291,517 revenue
