OK, fair enough. I guess this game follows an ice hockey model. You make such a decisive arguement.
I kinda get the impression that those who support day traders either do it themselves or were lucky enough to get a good spot with great players from the start of the game.
After 3 seasons, i've come to this unfortunate conclusion... to get ahead in PPM you need money, and the only ways to get money that level of cash is to either have a crapload of luck and be gifted great players from the SA (95% of us are NOT) or use day trading as a way to pimp the market and cheat newbies out of their money.
Unlucky ethical people are screwed, no matter what.

For the most part you are completely correct with what you're saying trueblue :/ By far the biggest factor in how to succeed here in the long run is to have the biggest amount of money. If you didn't start on top the only way to even consider competing with that high end cash flow is to market players. Seriously, the game is so out of whack the top team in my division made 50% more last season then I make this season! The only point to trying is to find other forms of fun in it than expecting to ever win here. That's a recipe for failure of the game...
I have to disagree with you about day trading as an ethical issue tho. It is acting within the rules and providing a service for which there is obviously demand. I don't like the practice and am all for the devs trying to find ways to combat it. I just don't view it as a matter of ethics. If anything it illustrates the failure of the devs where people think that type of player is good....

I don't understand how you feel so hard done by. You're in Div I, and you started in Div III. You have been able to advance quite nicely. There are 10's of thousands of teams playing this game, only one can be the best. Why can't people just appreciate the game for what it is?
here is something else to consider. the biggest problem with most MMO games is the economics. sooner or later...people either just do it to get the money in order to succeed, or the economy destabalizes because of financial inequalities...or both. some games get very lucky and balance the financials well enough to last a long time. but, rest assured, every on-line game has problems with this in one form or another.
our input should be ideas on how to stabalize the financials, so it doesn't collapse. the problem is not just the "daytraders" or even the trading/transfer system. the real, bottom line, issue is the total financial system. let's try looking at it from that angle and see what we can come up with.

The problem is that the reward for being a top tier team is too great. It will create a system where the top teams make enough money that they will always be the top team. They will have the best everything and even if poorly managed, will still advance greater than all other teams.
Yes, i advanced through 2 levels to Div 1, and i'm still in shock my team managed to do that. Then PPM removed the no-names from div 1 and moved people up into the league, again, no problem with that (for the most part).
My issue isn't "my" team as such, but the dynamics of the entire thing. Sure, I could train up 50 1 atty players, sell them for a small profit and then go and buy 1 or 2 superstar players to make my team strong. Hell, that's exactly what others are doing.
But why would I do that? To win? Sure. But winning isn't all it's about... at the end of the day, it's about getting a sponsor deal that gives you a weekly sum of money that you can build your team with. There are people in lower divisions making more sponsor dollars than people in the higher divisions... that to me is insane. Why should people try and compete and promote if they know that next season they're going to be screwed with smaller sponsor deals? It's better to lose on purpose, stay in the lower leagues and reap the rewards.
I can appreciate the game... but what is it exactly? You tell me?

I think the worst problem with daytraders is that newbies pay loadsa money for worthless players and barely notice the players that are balanced.
Mattias Östlund . Sold him for 110K
He has 85/49/48, 35 shooting 38 exp center
here's a random pick of the market Patryk Podgórski
25 million already for that?
The only way to earn money from the market is by tricking newbies or selling a player with great quality. It shouldn't be that way, greatly balanced players should be sold for more

It's not a matter of "it will create a system"...
It ALREADY HAS created that system. The top teams already get the big bucks, and they already have the strong teams... catching them is near impossible without the same financial support they're getting from their sponsor deals.
The only way to get that level sponsor deal is to catch them.
See the issue here? The PPM devs don't seem to realise that this sponsor issue is flawed.
That's the main reason people day trade... so they can actually build a team that is capable of competing, or they just end up doing what mine and many others has, falling down the ranks, getting smaller sponsor offers and getting more and more pissed off.

I think the most important issue everyone is missing is simple... Are you having fun? I mean, if your goal is to be the #1 team in the world, or even in your country, you have a rough road to plow. But if you have fun playing it whatever way you choose to do, then that is the goal of this game. Do I want to win? Sure, i'm excited to be competitive in my league, and would love to promote up to I.1
But I don't expect to win every game, or have the best players, or make the most money off every sale. I also am selective about who I buy, what upgrades I make, etc. So the daytraders can keep doing their thing, the people who want to buy junk can do their thing and none of it will affect me.
The only thing that saddens me is that some great smart players get caught up in some of these minute things that "must be fixed" and are "Destroying the game" etc etc

I am having fun! But then again, I have the no 1 team in my country...
The reason I still play is that I am having fun :>
My goal is to get from IV to I and I might have reached it the next season. Then Im satisfied being amongst the top 8
