When choosing the training camp duration it seems obvious that 7 days are better than 4 because it means bigger improvement, or does it?
Does 4 days allow for higher gains, or is it just a question of being able to keep your players there for 7 days?

You're a PPM helper?
Anyways, sometimes you want to send your star players for a shorter period of time (let's say you play the bottom 2 teams in the league, then a top 8). If you send them for 7 days, you'll have your stars in training camp vs the better team, so they can't play.
However, if you send for only 4 or 5, they can return in time for that game.

Being a helper means I'm supposed to help people play this game, correct?
And I should only answer questions if I know the right answers, right?
I don't claim to know everything, however I do possess the only skill required to gain that information ... I'm not afraid to ask questions!
Is that enough to be a helper, or are you still disappointed in me?

That's my take on it as well. Ideally you want to maximize your Training Camp and send players as long as possible for the bonus. However, if you've got a big game coming up and you want your players back, you can limit your training camp to 4,5,6 days.
Anything less than that really isn't worth it.
Ideally I like to have at least one Training Camp during the period between seasons. That way all my regulars have a chance to really advance their skills.

I usually hold two back-to-back training camps in the two weeks between seasons. Of course, playoffs can mess up that schedule which it did for my hockey team. But ultimately, 7 days just means a longer period of sustained training vs. 4 days which gives the same level but for a shorter duration so you can squeeze it in during the weekend or something.
That's what I thought, but I never actually did anything less than 7 days, so I wanted to make sure.
not me, i know you do your best and instead of saying BS your asking questions, too much BS in this world keep it real, the Chad is jealous because of your status on PPM LOL
Damn straight.
I want a funky symbol next to my name.
