yeah, well. I couldn't be online for the draft. so I missed an A player...and got nothing but junk in the automatic.

The draft was good to me! Then again, I had first pick, and my scouts found me an A+ player in Jim Spear .

I was going to take Spear if you didn't with the first pick. In any case, Spear looks like a strong candidate for the national team in a few seasons.

How did Davies turn out? I saw him as one of the three players with at least a rating of A.

Yeah, hopefully Spear can keep his CL up. If so, and if his unscouted qualities hold up, I think he'll be a top player quickly.

Davies is solid, although I'll know better when I get him scouted. Shame about the CL, but he could still project pretty well.

I saw 5 or 6 A players... is there a way to see now what they were ranked before the draft? I'd be curious to check on those guys too.

No - they get rid of the ratings after a few hours. I suppose the extra burden on their servers from all of the extra data must outweigh the value of keeping the information, or something to that effect.

Yeah, I mean, it doesn't really make a difference at this point. I'd just be curious to see what an A is in qualities.

By the way, Spear's uncoated qualities did hold up: Def-99, Off-99, Sho-82, Pas-81, Tec-95, Agr-99. He arrived as a defender; I'm tempted to convert him into a wing, but his shooting quality will be a little "weak". I could really use a good young defender, though, so I'll probably keep him there. Either way, it looks like I've got a monster on my hands. I've got to figure out a way to get him in the lineup quickly to start gaining experience.

His EQ looks to be 1 better as a defenseman (2 if you increase his shooting to 1:1 with offense and about the same as this if he trains shooting as a defenseman). I think he would be best as a defensemen since it would preserve his decent OR unless you need a wing on your team.

There is sometimes a shortage of talent at one or both wings on the U18 team, though talent tends to be even harder to find on defense.

Man! The Spacehounds have my number. I now have three regulation losses on the season, and two of them are to Sirius. Good game, nrgsports. I was agonizing over goalie choice, but it makes no difference when my lineup can't even score one on you!

I'm trying to avoid the Bleeding Wildcats in the first round, but my team keeps on winning, even while running two consecutive camps (granted that I'm only sending a few starters to camp at this point).

It's the Thunder I'd like to avoid. He beat me both times this season. That low-down, good-for-nuthin', moth... wait, can he see this?!?

Yep. Almost makes up for the 87 consecutive losses to the Bohemians that preceded those wins.

Yeah, after complaining that I couldn't beat the Spacehounds, I realized that my loss to them put me in line to face them in the first round. That should be fun.

Alright! Semifinal rematch against Bohemians and old nemesis Flavio Servetto. Last season I'm pretty sure they knocked me out of the semifinals in two games, and Flavio picked up like 67 saves on 57 shots, scored three goals himself, and even preempted the Salt Lake Fire Department in rescuing 4 kittens from trees while in town for their road game.

Should be an exciting series.

Flavio Servetto is headed for the II.3 Hall of Fame and they are going to name the top goalie trophy after him.
