Take a Lon, hard look at the standings. This is the only time this season I'll be in 1st. Friday starts my nearly immediate plummet to mediocrity.
Finally another win! Now my undefeated team has more regulation wins than 7 other teams (I'm not really complaining - I just find it amusing that I had such a high percentage of overtime wins this early in the season).
Effffff... I picked my tactic to use against Rose Thorns today, only to forget to set it so I used that set of tactics against him. I accidentally used my tactics for lower OR teams.
Jeez Cap, you are having a rough start. I honestly did not expect to win today.
Today was the first day that I had a completely healthy lineup (my first line RD returned). At least I am still undefeated in regulation.
I actually bothered to use the advertising system for an especially valuable player, and I ended up getting outbid. At least they gave me back my credits.
outbid for a lower value defined to your system??
that sucks .. when i decied to relegate this forum gets active i might come back in a year
Was the manager who outbid you Swedish, perchance?
Actually, this forum hasn't really been too active most of the time, though it could be. I would post more often if other people did. So far, this league has been extremely competitive, with a bunch of teams remaining within striking distance of first through half of the season.
I'm not sure what "lower value defined to [my] system" is referring to, but I bid 5 credits to advertise a player, and another Swiss manager bid more credits before the advertisement went out (I had spare credits given away PPM for some contest that I hadn't yet used). I thought that the advertising feature was used infrequently enough that I wouldn't have to worry about being outbid.
Beyond the matter of bidding for the advertisement, I did probably overprice the player a bit, though I still expect him to sell for that much or more once he becomes a free agent. Even so, I think that a sort of right to first refusal for the player should have some value. I intend to replace the player, so I might just match the final offer if I can't get enough money to offset the cost of a suitable replacement.

Ho hum. Another draft that was a waste of time. I know it won't go away nor will it be fixed so everybody gets a usable player but, one can hope. As it is it sucks.
I know this isn't the popular opinion right now, but it seems fairly realistic to me. It can be years between draft picks that work out for NHL teams. And for every Pavel Datysuk in the 6th or 7th round, there's an Alexander Daigle in the 1st...
Though I didn't get any A's despite having the second pick, I actually did get 4 6/6 CL B's, all of whom could probably be used on some teams. I may even keep the one that had good OR.
I finally managed to sell the player I was trying to sell and also managed to purchase a similar replacement (with a longer contract). I even had some spare money left to purchase an upgrade on defense. In addition, 2 important injured players are returning for my next game.
The Salt Lake Karma Police still look like the favorites to promote, though all of the playoff teams are probably close enough that everyone will have a chance to promote with some luck.

I actually kept an A winger and a B winger. I was shocked to get two usable players in the same draft.
