I believe Canucks357 said it was -10% for each day left on the injury.
Good memory. Here is the .txt file still saved on my computer:
Anyone who was wondering about the impacts of playing someone day-to-day:
--- Goalie was injured for *2 days* ---
Yesterday (healthy): 197 Goalie Strength
Today (day-to-day): 174 Goalie Strength
Starter = 60%, Backup = 40%
Thus backup attributes 79 Strength. Therefore my starter's "strength" dropped from 118 to 95 which is a 20% drop @ 2 days injury. Assuming it is a linear return to normalcy, playing someone day-to-day reduces their effectiveness by 10%/day.

Thanks for all of the help! The player had a rating of 24 when he was last healthy and 18 using the instant challenges yesterday with 3 days left of the injury, which is close enough to 10% per day with possible rounding errors for ratings.
I wasn't sure whether the rating would improve as the days until being healthy decreased or only when the icon for the injury would change and then disappear. I think I'm going to go ahead an play the player as a backup if a game is scheduled tomorrow.

I finally have trainees "just about" ready to move into the second string. So...should I keep the second string? Or sell them off?
It depends. Do you think you have an opportunity to promote? Are the younger players close enough that they wouldn't hurt your chances (having a third line that could take over when your other players get tired also helps)? Would you mind making your team a little weaker to give them a little more experience and chemistry for the future when they catch up?
The older players probably won't have value for much longer, so its better to sell them sooner if you can, but if they are below 300 OR, then you may not be able to sell them. Players in the low 300's might still be worth 1-5 million. Keep in mind that after selling 3 players, you lose an extra 5% in future transactions for each additional player sold.
It looks like you will have a very good chance to make the finals in the playoffs and possibly promote. Your team also looks good enough to possibly be a playoff team in I.1. I probably wouldn't sell the players in your position (you also may get better trainees in the future anyway) unless they will catch up completely by the end of the season (the instant challenges are useful for determining the ratings of your players) and you want to make sure that you at least get something for them while they still have value.

Yeah. Having a 3rd string is nice. And, my 1st stringers who "need to go" are borderline 300 OR. But, I don't want to hang on to these guys too long...I certainly don't want to just can them. A wonderful Catch-22...
We'll take a serious look at them after camp is over for the newer guys.

On a side note...
I have NO intention of selling all of them. But, I have a couple really low AVQ...even positional AQ that I need to get rid of. But, they are just so well trained for their position it is a tough decision...

WHAT DO I DO!!! Seriously I have been leading my last two games by 20 or more but then magical the other team comes back in the last 5 minutes and beats my team by a point.WHY!!!!
So my C got injured and I only have one elegible C. Is it better to pick the player closest in Height or the most talented for the position?
Depends how far off their height is.
I currently have a youngster of 200 at C.
He is doing well.

If someone could please answer my other question and how do you schedule a friendly.
well doubt one can answer correctly your question but it is likely cause you have not set enough reserves and minutes for the reserves. when you play a player 40min he will get tired and have a not so great 3rd quarter and often a horrible 4th.
friendly you have to go to some teams calendar, find a opening date and request a friendly
on teams you are a pro you can go to your own calendar pick an available day and request to find friendlies. you can do this so ppm will auto schedule for you for several days in a row.

Friendly, go to another teams calendar, search for open dates that are available for both of you. then schedule.
Go to the game tab, click on lineup, then click on settings. You can set the minimum number of minutes per period for substitutes, choose to substitute them in when you are leading or trailing by some number of points, choose when to substitute if the starter has personal fouls, and choose whether substitutes can play in the last 2-5 minutes.
On the substitutes tab next to the settings tab, you can choose the first and second substitute at each position from the players selected for your lineup.
