Assunto: Senior NT Discussion - Ireland ONLY

This is purely from a selfish point of view.

Why is Barrie Cam not playing ahead of Irelands 4th liner Sean Yule , and indeed Irelands 3rd liner Sean Wilde ?

My player is superior to both of them, and he would have had huge experience from being in the NT for many seasons...

It makes no sense at all, considering all 3 players are 21 years of age, and all have 4/6 CL.

Also, my facilities are better than both players teams, which means my player will train quicker than the other players. Average quality of all 3 players is very close, so that will make no difference.

This is just one player I have looked at, I'm gonna take a closer look at the team/squad for anymore "strange anomolies".

Gonna need some answers....

I have had a quick look at the team selected for tonight, and without fully checking all variables I can see that from my team alone and based on who played the game tonight, I have at least 3 players who are better than at least the 4th liners in the first team.

Barrie Cam, as I mentioned above, is good enough for the 3rd line.
I also have Roane Fitzgerald who I consider a better bet than Francis Dempsey , my player is better, and the teams facilities will mean he will grow stronger. My player is also 1 year younger, and is 5/6 as opposed to 4/6 for the other player.
If this choice is merely based on the shooting skill, than it is very baffling that a weaker defender gets to play ahead of a superior defender.

The 3rd player I seen at a glance is my player Dermot O'Toole .
He is 19, 5/6 CL, and is being overlooked in place of Cormac Dunstan who is a far inferior player at this stage of his career. He was once the best winger, but his time has come and passed. He is now 22 years of age, and is 4/6CL.
If he was a better player, than that would make sense, but he is not.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying I have the best players for the NT... there may well be better players in other teams, but I do have better players than some being chosen right now.

Teams that these players are coming from have lesser facilities than I have, so will not catch my players. They have less C/L left in their career. It seems all these players bring to the party is their shooting ability. Which will mean nothing if the team cannot defend or go forward more efficiently.

I would like some of the other Irish club managers to have a look at the current Irish squad and compare the first team to the players in their team.
It seems the current NT manager has not done his homework correctly.

I still dont know why I must using best players for friendly games. And please dont forgot who won first final in irish league.

For what it's worth, you were no longer in control of your team back then, you were removed from your account.

At least address the issues I've raised without trying to be smart...

It's not offensive in any way. If it is, that was not my intention.

I merely asked some questions regarding the NT, that is all.
Trust me, you are having it easy compared t when I was the NT coach.

I know how hard it is to manage the NT, it is not easy.
Results do no matter too much in friendlies, the WC is the be all and end all.

This is my thinking.

lo2010... choosing players for the NT should not be hurried, I even missed the first game in 1 season because I was not ready.

The job should not be rushed.

How I can now who will be play. Im just thinking about injuries etc. And I think, u were assistant aswell, so u know players getting 6 chemistry points for game and loosing just 1. And Im not talking about loosing energy.

At the end of the day, if you do not have a youth policy, which you clearly do not (and I'm not knocking you for this), then you must choose the best players for the team.

Giving chemistry to players who are not the best is simply throwing it away.

You need the best players to give yourself a better chance, do not think of this as me taking a swipe at you, it's rather me, an experienced NT manager, pointing you in the right direction.

I hope, that the team will be good enough at the start of WCh. Now I see, that probably it won't.

I guess the questions comes down to:

Will all players you intend to start each game in the WC (barring injuries) have 100% chem when the WC starts?

If not: are these the players that you are building chem on?

If yes then fine, if not why?
