Peter Stastny, one of the best hockey players of his era and the Godfather of hockey at PowerPlay Manager, has made a special contribution to our growing collection.

He found time in his busy schedule and met up with PPM founder tuttle a few days ago. He brought a precious gift with him - a jersey that you can see on the pictures.

What makes this jersey so special? The more knowledgeable hockey fans may know, that Peter Stastny is not only a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, but also one of the 18-member selection committee that decides who gets into the fabled shrine and who doesn't. As a member of the committee he also takes part in the annual Hockey Hall of Fame Legends Classic game, which is played during the induction weekend.

This jersey is from the 2009 game featuring such greats as Mark Messier, Bobby Hull, Bryan Trottier, Slava Fetisov, Borje Salming and many more. The 2009 Hall of Fame class was pretty awesome with Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille and Brian Leetch.

As Peter told us, he usually gives these jerseys away only for charity or for the purposes of inserting pieces of them into hockey cards. These jerseys are incredibly expensive and so we are very honored that Peter has been so generous to us.

Here are a few interesting facts about Peter Stastny:

• only Wayne Gretzky scored more points in the NHL during the 1980s
• he is the only player to have represented 3 different countries in hockey (Czechoslovakia, Canada, Slovakia)
• he was the first player to score more than 100 points as a rookie in the NHL
• he played with his brothers Anton and Marian on the same line for several seasons in Quebec Nordiques
• in 1998 he became only the third European born and trained player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame
• he won two world championships as a player with Czechoslovakia and one as a general manager of team Slovakia
• he has been a member of the European Parliament since 2004
