Why aren't you trying in soccer? You have a pretty decent team with 70 OTS. I haven't really looked at the rest of the league lately, but I'm only a 74.

Anyone have any experience with how much of a penalty R/L preferred players have when playing a midfield position, as opposed to universals?

I've only ever used universals in midfield positions, but just pulled a guy who has decent qualities for center mid and is PrS Right.

My guy Gus Adams is a righty and he plays CM. 4G & 6A this season. Clint Metz for the Boilermakers is also a righty playing in the middle. He has 5G & 10A. So it can't be too much of a penalty if there is one.

My LD went from a 15 rating to a 13 when I tried him at RD, so maybe a non-universal midfielder takes a -1 rating hit?

Gus Adams is a 17 in game rating as a CMM and a CMR. I am, of course, making up these abbreviations. I have no idea what the real names would be. Anyway. When Adams is in the middle of the central midfield and on the right side of the central midfield, he gets a 17 igr. I'll play him on the left side of the CM today to see if that changes.

Or I guess, since players are supposed to affect the zones around themselves as well as the one they're placed in, he just has less influence on the LM zone, which would be reflected in possession somewhat. It'd be tough to tease out just how much that matters without looking at a lot of games.

So maybe just saying it's the equivalent of a -1 rating is the easy way to go. A CM with high attributes is most important, universal is just a nice bonus, I guess.

Adams was a 17 on the left as well. The only way to figure this out would be to have two players exactly the same except for their preferred sides.

Yeah, this is really annoying. It sucks that you got stuck in a group with Makkah, who can sandbag his league and still maintain a high ranking, and then play all the CWC games on very high. Your team should not be a 12-seed in this tournament.

Do we know the algorithm for calculating those rankings? Is it like mathematically impossible for us to catch up now? Two of the Canadian teams are playing each other in the CWC as well.

As for the outcome, I hope you're right, but you beat me pretty good in league play a couple weeks ago...

Yeah. I knew Makkah had the advantage so I used backups/trainers every game and didn't really try in the first stage. I put more effort into this last season and I still had to play a great Canadian team in the first round of the playoffs. So I figured why waste the energy.

I have no idea how they rank the countries. I don't think anyone paid any attention until they dropped us from 8 teams to 4.

The cKs are a 94oTS?!?!?! Jesus. He must be the luckiest player in the game. His roster is all Canadian, so I'm assuming they're all youth pulls. He's got 17 over 700or. I have 8 with 700+ and only 3 are pulls. That's a ridiculous advantage.

At least the Boilermakers and Bleeding Wildcats won. We're currently 2.15 behind Canada.

The cKs lost 1-2 playing VL vs VH. It would be very nice if they went away early. It won't happen.

Actually, this might not be terrible. If the "average coefficient" is assigned similarly to the OTR points, then we each earn some points for USA for the tie. In fact, more total OTR is given for a tie (about 3.1 for each team, so 6.2 total) than for a game where a team wins (about 4.3 for the winner and 0 for the loser). So I think the tie may have improved our standing there.

So now I just need to stack my defense in front of the net and hold us to a 0-0 tie--maximum points for USA and I'd win by having more away goals!

No, I meant it was the worst result for me personally I wanted an easy second game or to be knocked out myself. Because I really wanted to focus on the league this season. I pretty much gave up on it at the end last season. I used only backups in the last 2-3 weeks of league play so my starters had enough energy for the CWC.

Not looking forward to making the move to I.1 next year other then the retention or OTR and money. There are a lot of great teams.

I think I'm going to sell all my players and build my stuff up more that or actually play higher than very low and try one of two options haha but i find I.1 boring nobody talked on the forums till like half way in the season
