well... its been fun in D1. it was a miracle i survived last year... relegation was pretty much unavoidable for me this year. best of luck to everyone going forward
leggman... not sure how i beat you out last year.... but your hockey team has beat me a few times before so we are even
The Betamax are proud to lose their way in to the CWC for the second season in a row!
I just did the math and figured out that we will only have 6 total births (+Meatwads?) because of the three new leagues. Provided there are only 62 spots in the quota before champion provisionals, there will be 7 leagues with 6 teams and 5 with 4 teams.
Either this or there will be 72 teams competing in the two major "other world" international cups.
So Chicago Firehoses and Bleeding Wildcats...tough luck.

That's a good point.
When I made that list, I was going off of the current figures that PPM lists. It's possible that they'll have 72 teams in the two major "other world" international cups, Europe has 192, but they'll probably go the other direction.
The Chicago Firehoses would then move to the CWC and the Bayern Munich FC and Bleeding Wildcats would be bumped out of the CWC. I apologize for getting those teams' hopes up.
There's also a chance that the there'll still be some countries sending 8, some sending 6, and some sending 4. That is how it was this season. I suppose we could ask Vlady how it'll work out, or just wait and see.

I've been playing around with a spreadsheet and noticed a possibility for that. The number of qualified teams for CWC and ChL are always equal before the Champion provisionals are added. Therefore, there must be an odd amount of 6 to add up to the 31 open spots / competition.
Using these premises. We caould have 1 to 3 leagues with 8 total teams Providing we keep the current system.
If our Int'l cup were to go in the direction of Europe: it would look as follows (in reality it comes out to 74 total teams(37*2+2 champions)): The team allocations would need to be doubled from what they appear as now, and 20 teams in each tournament will play qualifiers. The European system roughly exist in RL, but in a much less random fashion. Champions of 6 team leagues play qualifying matches(or so I think), which should not be the case as 1/3 of the qualified teams skip qualifications randomly.
But like you said, Vlady and the gang will need to sort it out. I doubt they want to see the latter scenario.

Looks like the page has been updated. We'll be down to 6 teams next season by the narrowest of margins.
