well... today is make or break for the champions league. I'm currently sitting in second in the division, so it's mine to lose at this point. I'm good to advance as long as I don't lose AND the 3rd place team doesn't win. If we both lose, I'm fine. If i win at all, I'm fine.
If I manage to make it through... it'd be the first time (at least that I'm aware of?) that we'd have a team make it through the qualifying round in the champions league in handball, so fingers crossed.

I'm looking at a bit of a youth movement next season. I need to get some of these young US guys some experience for future nat'l team duty, and I also have to keep my wage bill in check.
It will be interesting to see how far my team falls off. I'm probably replacing 3 starters with much younger players.

Thanks! I didn't do very well at managing my energy this season... so my guys were a little bit more exhausted than I would've liked. Those away playoff games were pretty scary this season.

Well... i've been stock piling money so that hopefully i can manage some of my upcoming RFAs. This offseason will be a good test to see how well i can manage to keep my team together.
So i might be running with a slightly younger team next season too. We'll see how crazy people get with their bids.

Wait - why did I qualify for Champions League? I thought only the 1st place team made it?
If you check the "Ranking of countries" under the "TOURNAMENTS" tab (handball.powerplaymanager... ), you can see how many teams will qualify for international tournaments. The USA gets four in handball, so that's two each for the CL and CWC.
Champions league is fun...until you realize you don't stand a chance. I won 2 games last year lol. Some of the European teams in my division had 100 more team strength than me.
well at the very least it gives you more ticket sales for 4 days. if you have a maxed arena, you get way more money during the season from the international games than without.
8 friendly games will get you mayyybe like $10 million. from the 8 champions league or cwc games you'll get 0 from the away games, but like $8 million for each of the home games. So that works out to like $22 million more. Even if you lose every game.

yep! one of the reasons I've tried busting my ass in the CL the last several seasons I've been in it is because how well we do effects how many teams we get to have in participation.
So we have 2 cup winners cup teams and 2 champions league teams.
