Unfortunately, Australia U20 are the first team to be knocked out of contention for the World Cup in Group 6 after a 3-0 loss to 1st-place Latvia. There are still two matches to go, but the best position we can get to now is only 5th place...

Another tough match tomorrow vs Portugal with two matches to go.... Might be time to get the youth on soon to get ready for next season so they can gain some Chemistry.
Next season I won't be reapplying for the U20, but will support lawrencedepe in his candidacy - he's done well keeping you all informed and helping me. I'll take a break after doing the last 6 seasons of U20 (and 8 of the last 10 seasons)
No real candidacy yet for the U17 team for next season I see, just a team less manager - so looks like an opportunity for someone.

I'm interested in picking up the U17s... I've been scouting almost all the Australian 15 yr olds that have come out this season, so I have a good head start on finding the youngsters.
If I am selected as U20 manager next season, I have the entire squad already lined up, except for one goalkeeper who I am yet to decide. I would really appreciate anyone who will vote for me, and thanks to BronteFlynn for the support!

Morgan used to be the best option for U17 but my personal opinion is that his progress is not as good as the other one, I just tried to save him at time from the market..
Morning all,
It's been a tough season this season, not the best one at all from scoring points but there is one match to go. After 3 successive 3-0 defeats we are up against France U20 this weekend... There are a fair few new starters this weekend with an incredible 5 starting players suspended - let's just say confidence is not high, but hopefully chemistry will be a bit higher.
So what are the highlights over the last 6 season? Well looking at the point score, we did peak a couple of seasons ago with a good run as we moved up to being ranked 40th, and made it into two PPM challenge tournaments (top 48). Right now we have slipped back down to 51st.
God luck with the team next season, there are a good number of 18 & 19 yr players already in the team so hope they learn from mistakes this season!

I have scouted a number of new players for next season, nearly done, but I am happy to say that there will be a few new faces if I am elected. I did some extensive scouting while looking for a new goalkeeper, and found some outstanding players who haven't been through U17 strangely enough. My current squad lineup for next season will see a good range of new 18 and 19-year-olds, while keeping most of the eligible players from last season who already have a good chemistry in the team.
Yet to see any new candidates for the Australia U20 position next season apart from myself, strangely enough...

I am pleased to announce that control over the Aussie U20 side for our upcoming friendly against Morocco U20 has been handed over to me as assistant from head coach BronteFlynn. As a result of this, the squad is entirely 19 and 18-year-olds in preparation for next season. Our rankings are quite similar, but if I am to be totally honest, I don't expect us to win because of our younger side. Please cheer the team on for BronteFlynn's last match as Australia U20 manager, although it'll be just past midnight if you are here in Australia...
Happy Easter by the way!

Good luck! This weekend and next season!
Thanks for support Australia this season and last few. Sorry we couldn't do better this season.

Hey guys!
We finished the season with a tie (sorry I couldn't pull off a win for BF's last match as manager), which was much better than I thought we were going to finish at. Considering that they are ranked higher than us and we both played at the same intensity, I believe we came away with a good result! We were leading for the majority of the match, but they scored two late goals to equalise.
Thanks for a great season and thanks to BronteFlynn for selecting me as assistant earlier on this season. It's been really great, and I would love to continue as manager for next season... (you might not have a choice at this rate!)

Considering that I am the manager for next season (99% sure about it), I have created 3 seasonal goals: One easy, one medium, and one hard.
EASY: Reach position 48 on U20 rankings.
MEDIUM: Score at least 2500 points.
HARD: Play 3 different 18-year-old players during the season.

Your hard one is probably the easiest. There are plenty of opportunities to play younger players in friendlies, even if it's just for a few minutes at the end. And come the back end of the season, a number of those 18yos will be shaping as first team players for the following season so you'll want to give them a bit of experience where you can.
I like the look of the highest rated 17yo in the U17 team, Jared McCoy . He probably deserves a spot on the bench and opportunities should come somewhat naturally from there. The other 17yos don't appear to be challenging for a spot quite so strongly but there's plenty of quality there.
