Really the season is the 1st match - we lose that, we're out
Congratulations to our U20's on a hugely important match that we won 6-0 over Uruguay! For some unknown reason, they played very low, then low intensity in the second half while we played very high intensity for the entire match. This score will be a definite boost to the squad and now puts us ahead of Uruguay in the standings!
Congratulations! 
Was nervous before this match as the U20 team looks to move from last place in our pool to a top 4, can't afford any slip-up.... Very excited to win by that margin of 6-0 over Uraguay, that going to be crucial as it will be very tight in this World Cup group.
Both forwards scored hattricks and was a record NT score line for us. Fingers crossed we continue next week versus Greece. Last season we lost 2-1 to Uraguay, then a 0-0 vs Greece - more confident this year now.

With last week's win over Uraguay, Australia U20 world ranking is now 43rd - the highest rank ever for the U20.
This weekend is Greece, a match we are expected to win, but strange things happen. Iran last week beat Greece 4-0, we face Iran the week after Greece. These first 3 games are mandatory to win this season.

We lost 5-0 to Greece? How? The tactics don't match up with the statistics or the scoreline. I can say I am surprised to say the least!
I don't want to interfere in it. I make only some remarks, if not trouble.
Our midfield was weaker, so long ball style would have been needed in the first half too. Delay play and often offside trap, if it is possible. And clearing the ball out of danger in defense.

Yep that was unexpected... Clearly I got the tactics wrong on that one.

Yea sorry that kinda failed, but Australia are now at the bottom of the table (again!). 
And we have now had the 3 easy matches... Next four will be a lot tougher!
Unfortunate not to get a win. Many more shots on target than Iran, their goal keeper was very strong!

Just looked at the tables... We are the highest scoring team in last place of any pool.... I take that as a win
Unfortunately a 3-0 loss, was expected but hoping for an upset. Still mathematically a chance to qualify but getting harder every week!
If anyone is aware of any new goalkeepers that could become part of the U20 team next season, could you please add them below. None of the 17 yr olds from the U17 team are goalkeepers, leaving the team with only 2 (2 are leaving this season because they are 20). All help would be appreciated.
