How do you locate all the Australians playing overseas as the U20 manager? Do you have to find each player manually or do you get a special tool (or something similar) that gives you access to all the players eligible and their clubs?
Find them, follow them, go into Aussie teams and look at their transfers as well.
I guess that makes sense... thanks for the clarification!
It depends what your ambitions are. U17 manager is the trickiest because you have to do all the work, scouting every young player you can.
If the U17 manager has done their job properly, the U20 manager just needs to scout all the 17yos in the nat team and any other players they can find with high OR, AQ and team facilities. The senior NT manager does the same, looking at the 20yos.
Of course, if anyone is a weak link in the chain, that makes life difficult for the managers of the older teams.

Well done on all those selected in the U20 team - roster ready. We will see how we go this weekend against the same Friendly opposition as last weekend.
Last weekend we lost 3-1 to Netherlands U20

A 1-1 draw with Netherlands - so the new team did make a difference.
Just realised tactics were still on VH from last season - whoops. Back to VL for next match to save energy for qualifiers.

Evening all
Finally a proper update on U20... yes life has been busy.
The full U20 squad has been picked, with the best players, plus quite a number of U18 players filling the squad. This will definitely help the next U20 manager, as pretty much the team is picked for next season. PS: I won't be reapplying for U20 manager next season after being manager for 8 of the 10 seasons.
This season the U20 squad is stronger on paper so hopefully when the real matches come around we can make up some ground and qualify.
So some stats on the U20 roster this season:
- 51% of the squad currently are with Aussie Teams.
- Which Aussie teams raised the most players? (So from their Sports Academy):
1. Knights = 12 players
2. Colah Creek = 10 players
3. Highland Terriers = 4 players
4. TrueBlue United = 3 players
5. Warramoo Warriors = 2 players
6. Beta FC (managerless) = 2 players
7. FC Atlantic (managerless) = 1 player
8. Essence Jets (managerless) = 1 player
- What are the ages of the players?
18 years old = 11 players
19 years old = 14 players
20 years old = 10 players
Until next time
This is U20!

Welcome lawrencedepe of team [soccer_team=127900] as assistant for U20 this season, and keenness to understand the national team management side of things.
Thank you so much! I am looking forward to learning more about managing and I hope that I can help in any way that I can for the remainder of this season.

Thanks for the update. The top 4 teams all have high level academies. I would have thought that the distribution would be more even between them. Any idea why Knights and Colah have so many players, but less from Terriers or Trueblue? Is it just coincidence, or caused by different management styles?
Great wrap up mate
as always, I'd say. Will see how it will go, still seems to me that there is a season to get on the job so it should be easy transmition..
Thanks for all those seasons!

Co-incidence and probably because they have had their training facility at high Level 15 for longer so youngsters are improving faster.
