luongo without ntc/nmc would have gotten vancouver a similar deal. his contract made him almost impossible to move
Without the NTC the GM would of had more flexibility to trade him early on while his value was at the highest. Of course this would still mean they had to stop dwindling their thumbs and actually pull the trigger on a trade
Depends, for some teams that are attempting to reach the cap floor, its actually not a horrible contract, especially when you see what some of the more recently signed goalie contracts are (Those are also the teams that have lots of the young players they would have been after). But I agree somewhat, as goalies don't have a lot of trade value these days anyway. The Kesler trade is where they could have got a lot more.
That's a good point. Florida gets a high cap hit without the high pay. That's a way for them to have a yearly payout below the cap floor.

I read things like Markstrom being the best goaltender in the AHL right now. He stole and dominated games against the Flames' AHL team too. What a rebound for him after being waived to get sent down... I'm sure he'll contribute for the big club soon because the guy has starter potential. Bad news for the Flames though haha
Canucks should have never signed Miller... they have plenty of prospect goalies. Let Lack and Markstrom battle it out... put his cap towards something of better use.
Totally agree, he's an OK goalie, but I just don't like the guy. He doesn't bring much more to the table than Lack or Markstrom at this point in his career.
