With the stuff happening in my life, i'm struggling to just keep up with my current teams
You've done a great job setting up this team from scratch, a tonne of scouting and researching done, so will make it easier for next time. Really only had a few feeder teams (hopefully that will change as I see in league promotion rounds we are getting stronger, a lot more difficult to break into League I.1)
Is tougher managing U17 than U20 for sure as far as finding youngsters go, well in future seasons that is - now the core of the teams have been formed.

Good to get a good pull from the academy the very first week...,Dylan Campbell . Central defender.
I managed to pull two good defenders in the first week: Mason Speak and Hamish Lawson
Promising signs for a future defensive wall

I assume the next U17 manager will be announced very shortly so this will be my last report. We went down to the senior Iranian team last night 3-0. I suspect I thought it was the U17 team when I accepted the challenge but it was a good hitout regardless.
The starting team was pretty close to the best team. I rested Dylan Welsh because he was in training camp so if you bring him in for Bulley that is probably the most competitive eleven. Nathan Cullinane, Preston Houghton and Ben Davies are probably the best of the reserves.
There are currently only 22 players in the squad. I have a large database of 17 and 16yos that I am happy to send to the next manager if they PM me an email address. Good luck to whoever gets the job

Mr. Lawson is very promising Uni, 6/6..
would not mind either of them to be honest

the situation around U-17 does not look as bright as U20 as I have my questions around those that apply for a job..hope that they will surprise me in a good way..
So hello everyone, the new manager of the U17 team and firstly I am shocked that I got the job. Anyway I have accepted a friendly against the Brazilians U17 team. So anyway the first match under my managment will be against the Uruguay U17 team.
Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions. There are plenty of friendly people in the Aus league who can offer advice
So my first match as manager of the Australian U17 manager and we did get off to a good start against the 33rd rank team of Uruguay with Bryce Power opening his account for the U17 team and it was 1-0. Then it went all wrong with two quick goals in 3 minutes ending our chances of taking home the victory. But still a good performance for the team.
Our next game will be against Morocco U17s if of course they accept and hopefully we might snatch a win.

Very unlucky to be ahead with three minutes to go then lose. Good luck against Morocco!
Second game as manager, and it was against Morocco U17. The only goal came from Michael Davison to put the Aussie U17s into the first victory for Season 12.
This is also our first victory against an African team so we now do have a perfect record as that was our first game. Next up for the Australians are Bosnia and Herzegovina U17 in which our H2H isn't on our side
Past matches
16.06.2013: Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 Australia
05.10.2013: Australia 0-3 Bosnia and Herzegovina

So the next game as manager was against the 28th ranked team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I went with a 4-4-2 lineup. Their was changes in the squad with the players in training camp, so it wasn't the strongest out there. The first half went without any problems with the only worry being Michael Davison yellow card.
The second half we immentaly switched Toby Bulley and Ben Davies spots to bring this up to speed. We knew what to do and in the 59th minute we got with Bryce Power scoring the only goal of the game and would be the match stealer. It was further help as Bosnia and Herzegovina went down to 10 men with Bartul Toljagic being shown red.
It didn't matter with our one man advanagate paying off by sercuring another win in the bag and this time against a team that was half our ranking of 56. It was also the first time that Australia U17s have won two games in a row. Anyway our next match will be a toughie as it is against Brazil U17s who is currently ranked in 38th place which is surprising knowing that the senior team is ranked 8th.

Great commentary and congrats on a win, but make sure you don't use too much energy before the qualifiers... Most teams play very low in friendlies for that reason.
