What are the odds that the only 3 people posting in the III.1 hockey topic would end up in the same league in soccer? Cool And we picked up another talker over here. Hi, smirker
How's everyone's team looking? I seem to be top heavy, and most of the talent appears to be in the Midfield and Goal. Someone told me that the Midfield is the engine, so I guess that's a good thing. I have one Mid who's showing as 95Q with 197OR. That's astounding, but I doubt he's that good. I also have 3 solid goalies. I'd probably be happy if any of them were my only goalie. That's pretty good compared to hockey when I barely had one when I started. My forwards are crap. I considered going with one forward and playing Devils soccer, but I've been slowly opening it up a bit more during this free week. I've moved my top Mid up to the LW hoping to generate some offense.
I still don't have a clue about the game.

I have no clue either.
Looking at my roster it doesn't appear I have a solid standout like you do more of a spread around team which has it's advantages like I'm not necessarily weak in any position but then again I won't blow you away with any one position then.
First games are tomorrow so we'll all have to see how it works.
Also does anyone know what the main stats per position are? Like goalies in hockey are: Main: Goal/ Secondary: Pass and Tech

No clue here as well and I even forgot that today was a league match and left it on low for an away game. Paid for that with a 3-0 loss.
My best is an 87Q, 190 OR player. Other than that, my team is fairly well distributed and is actually much better than my beta team.
But like both of you, I have no clue what I'm doing, so it will be a long strange trip.

2:1 win. Yeah. I know exactly what I'm doing
I don't think the positions have main attributes like in hockey. I think everyone needs everything. Maybe the goalie & some of the D don't need shot, but it seems like everyone needs everything else. But I don't know anything about real soccer, so I'm probably wrong.
I'm going to train my goalie in goal and tech as the main bits. With speed, pass (ball handling?) and headers (jumping for balls?) getting some training too. Eventually. This 10-15% training is almost as painful as 6% scouting!

Yeah I'm not sure how useful training is going to be for a while. By the time we get our facilities up we hopefully have replaced most of these bums.
Bombsville and CTD start at TS 9 while Williston starts at 7. There are even a couple teams with 10, and 3 with 6. Going to be important to build up team early.
I think I'm going to stick with my team for the most part. I would love to upgrade the forwards, but those will probably be the most expensive. And any decent player seems to go for two million dollars. I don't see the point in paying those prices when we don't have the facilities to take advantage of them. So I'm just going to put everything into the stadium/facilities and hope the youth school can fill the holes in the line-up.
My back-up goalie earned our first attribute point tonight

Coaches apparently go for quite a bit early on. Canucks357 had a 2M bid on his coach the first week before they cancelled staff sales.
I have a Lecturer. That's about as useless as you can get. I wonder if he goes to the classroom to talk to himself. Or maybe he just sleeps in his bathtub all day.
I tried backing up my forwards today. I don't know if that was the problem, or if it was the other team playing on High, but I only had one shot on goal and one went wide. I think I'll be putting them back.

Well he can lecture in front of a mirror. Apparently lecturers train themselves, so not completely useless.
