Anyway, my roster is in win now mode since youth isn't really a strength at this point. I only have 1 prospect that's really worth building around. While the loss was a setback for such a roster, my best bet is probably to continue to maintain and if possible bolster my current roster for the next few seasons. As opposed to the youth rebuild that I've tended towards in other sports, perhaps I might try developing and selling off youth for profit to maintain my starting lineup.

With that said, I might consider selling off some of my players under 23, with Foley (who in addition to his other strengths has had a perfect CL path thus far) being the prized asset. I'd plan to wait at least until next season before I made anyone available though.

Well... you're in a good position to be flexible. you can play it by ear. see what sort of offers RFAs get, and if you don't love them, part with them and take the 50% of sale price cash.

that was sort of what i had PLANNED to do before i did my accidental fire sale lol. you'd be surprised how much you can get for decent RFAs who aren't really that important to your team's ability.

I'm promoting to I.1 this upcoming season, and getting the sponsorships I think I'm getting some idea of the financial differences...a sponsorship offer I rejected was three-star, and more than double what I am receiving now (in the general); on the media offer, it was over double what I'm getting now, but only one-star. Looking forward to having the cash to develop more!

After two years of doing whatever I could in CwC without great success, I had still a little bit of hope for the Champion's league.

Yeah, I am fully expecting to lose a lot. However, my only goal this season is to stay up, and I just need to find a way to finish ahead of three teams, right? And win in relegation, of course.

If you stay up as a bottom 6 team for too long, your OTR will plummet along with your future sponsors. I'd recommend trying to win as many games as possible and demoting in the relegation round (playing on very high all season would help towards this end without risking upsetting the sponsors by tanking in the relegation round).

If you really want, you could probably pick up free agents and make the playoffs, but teams like that tend to struggle to remain competitive for too long and put off development of important facilities.

Tough decision, but you're certainly right I wouldn't be able to get good enough free agents without compromising development. I probably promoted a season too soon, but there was little I could have done differently; I went 49-3, and played on low/very low a lot of the time.

I feel your pain! I was promoted, relegated, promoted and relegated because of the big difference between tier I and tier II teams. Not near good enough to stay up (4 wins), and way to good to stay down no matter what tactics I used. Finally slashed the budget in every area including selling off top players and staff so I could work on my arena and facilities. Went with a younger team that I adjusted yearly to stay in the top three but not promote until I could be competetitive enough in tier I to sometimes make the playoffs. Then played my younger players on very high against top teams and saved my best to win games against teams I could beat. My OTR was in intensive care for years. Making small gains each season now, but still a long ways to go!
