I'm starting to get to that point. My top players are mostly 3/6 some still 4/6. I've only got 2 forwards who can play competitively and are 5/6. My goalie is not on a great CL path, and I have no young backup for him. My defense is the only part of my team with a good balance.
Give it a few seasons and I will be in trouble.

The simple answer - Breaking up of play, however that's no longer a sure thing.
The long answer - it would depend on your team structure and strengths. If you have great snipers who can score big goals, offense can work very well, same goes if you have stellar D, you could run defensive.
My theory has always been to play according to your team strengths.

OTR/win has been changed in league play. Div2 gets around 4OTR/win now. Anyone care to comment what div1,3,4 get?
I heard I.1 gets 4.5 OTR/win.
I did a quick calculation based on 4.5,4,3.5,3 as the OTR per league going down each level then predicted how my current team would do in each level for OTR gain:
Div3
Div2
Div4
Div1
Even with the new changes to OTR gain it still doesn't make sense to stay up in I.1. The promotion OTR loss reduction makes it worth while to promote, but not worth my while to stay.
Comments?

Haha. I know OTR isn't everything. League level impacts attendance and sponsor offers, but the funny thing from my analysis was that I make more OTR in div4 than in div1 considering the difference is only 1.5OTR/win more (assuming 0.5OTR/win drop at each league level).
You shouldn't have trouble winning most if not all of your games in Div 2 though, so why would you earn more in Div 3?
I'm banking on 25-5-4-4 season in div2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) and something like 36-1-1-0 in div3. With 4OTR/win in div2 and 3.5OTR/win in div3 it actually gives more OTR in div3 "IF" the records are as I say. If I do better in div2 than I predict clearly it would mean more OTR etc.
I think you'll do better than you predicted.
My only regulation losses were due to training camp.

There are at least 4 other strong teams in II.4. So perhaps you're right but even the first game was close. Only won because I was at home.
