Thanks guys, I didn't do that last year becasue I wanted all my popular players playing in every game to maximize ticket sales.
But getting an injury or something does effect me greatly. Can you gain a little popularity from friendly games?

I would imagine not much... And if I were a player starting off in PPM, i would do it your way, that way you build your players up to stars quickly.
My players are kinda reaching a plateau as they near 4/6 and 3/6 CL... So I'm trying to really build up my youth and have a bit of a youth movement.

We should all chip in 5 credits to a pool. Whoever had the highest %ge of their players drop in C/L wins the money - to ease the pain. I'm suggesting this because more than 4/5 players on my team are 50/50 to drop or worse.
That's not too bad. I have a tonne of guys finishing their 3rd year at their C/L. I'd say almost all my 5/6 guys and certainly all of my 4/6 guys are in that boat. If a select few escape the wrath of the PPM gods I'll be a very happy camper.

I've seen defencemen whose attribute builds go either 2:1:1 (Def
as:Agr) or 2:1:1:1 (Defas:Tec:Agr), which one is better in making the OTS or Defence line strength higher?
for example, let's say there are 2 d-men with different builds:
one has 200:100:100, and the other has 200:100:100:100
the first player who has the 2:1:1 build might have better shot rating and a bit of tech rating to match the 500 OR that the second player has.
Which one would contribute to a higher line strength?

Strong Tech used to be vital for keeping D-men out of the penalty box. It's not really the case anymore.

ughhhh... then I made a horrible mistake spending 4M on a d-man with 180-100-100-100 ratings. I used him in today's game but didn't notice any big difference in line strength, and his energy isn't that bad to affect the strength (has 89). I Should've asked before buying someone
That's not a mistake, you got a great player at a good price. Good qualities and CL?
I'm two days away from scouting him. CL is 4/6 at 21 years of age, which might not be all that good. The qualities don't seem spectacular but their mediocre I believe..
I keep all my d player at 2-1-1-1 ratios. I think if you just want your star rating to look good you just have to train the main attribute.
That would mean the OTS calculation only factors in primary attributes, which would seem to decrease its reliability... yet it's pretty reliable.
Na best OTS is just pure 2:1:1. You can build one-atty-junk guys and they won't do shit for your OTS.
