I don't think you get me ...
Let's say you have set a 3-5-2 tactic, with:
1 LD
1 CD
1 RD
For the momment we'll reffer only to CD position. We can put a CD in 3 squares, ok (we won't consider the CD offensive positions) ?
Question 1:
Let's assume we have 2 players (identical as skills, exp, che, etc), one of them is universal..one of them right foot. Both of them are played as CD (middle square).
Will be the influence, on central defence only, the same ?
Question 2:
Let's assume we have 2 players (identical as skills, exp, che, etc), one of them is universal..one of them right foot. Both of them are played as CD (right square).
Will be the influence, on central defence only, the same ?

I think that CD with U or right or left handed have same influence in centre, only influence to right side or leht side will be decreased but in center wot do any difference?
Izzax said:
'Both of them will influence as much as they can do to CD, but right footed one will give slightly less influence to CD than universal one. At least, this is what is said in the Guide.'

I think it says that if righfooted plays in cd it doesnt influence so much to LD as to RD
You are wrong. Maybe U didn't understood me or maybe I didn't explained well, but the picture will tell more than 1,000 words
Assumptions:
1. When defender plays at central position (above keeper) in Central Defence and is Universal he gives some influence to CD, RD and LD (for better understanding and easier calculating I will use numbers 100 for CD and 5 for LD and RD).
2. When defender which is not universal (but right or left) plays at central position (above keeper) in Central Defence he will contribute 5% less for CD position and 5% less to LD or RD (if he is Left than 5% less to RD and if he is Right than 5% less to LD). This is clearly stated in Guide, that player which is not Universal plays in central area will play somewhat worse, so for easier calculations I use 5% lesser performance.
3. When defender shift to right or left side in Central Defence area he will give some of his skills to shifting area (LD or RD). This is also stated by Guide. For easier calculation I used that defender gives 10% of his skills (strength) from CD to the position he is shifting to and 20% from LD or RD (if he is shifting till LD he will give 10% from CD and 20% from RD).
These numbers are probably wrong, but I just used them for easier calculating and understanding.

I hope that it is clear now what is better...

Hmm, I wouldn't want to agree on some of your pictures. I think that Universal Case2 (UC2) and Left Case2 (LC2) should be similair on centre and left side- although LC2 plays as a CD, he still plays on his prefferable side. Well, we at least should agree on the fact that UC2 doesn't give more contribution to the left side as LC2, which is LC2's prefferable position. The same applies for UC1 and RC3, and for pictures 1&3 on the bottom line.
However, this picture could be a very nice guide to new users, you should put it in PPM magazine (only without the numbers, just "less" or "more" or something like that
). I like your analytic style, it's about time we start searching for answers in PPM football

Actually I would like to ask someone who would want to play 6 friendly games with the same players, tactics and lineups, only with one difference- the central defender in one of the teams rotates in all six CD positions- the centre near keeper, The left and right CD, the CD towards midfield and the left and right CD towards midfield. Then (assuming that vlady is right by stating that there's no random in PPM football), by analyzing the ball control percentage on each affected side, the contribution to each side would be clear even in numbers. It would finally make clear whether it's efficient to make universal players in PPM football- let's say, an attacking midfield or a defensive midfield. Anyone interested?

I still think that Left footed player is not giving 100% of his skills to CD but something less. Let it be 5% for instance (in hockey when left play on right have a penalty of about 7.5%). Now, if he can't contribute so much to CD, and when you shift him to left side of CD he give some % of CD to LD. Now, CD of Universal player is higher than Left player gives to CD, so than the % they both gives to LD is always bigger from bigger number (Universal have gives bigger number than Left one playing at CD position). I hope that You understand me, what I'm trying to say in this case?
About analytic, 10X for the nice words. I'm trying of giving my best, also when I play matches I try to analyze my opponent as best as I can do. Probably coz of that I have nice results with my team so far (1st and now 2nd season). Also bear in mind that I didn't pulled some great rookies, but average ones and that my team stands on foreign players which I bought for big amount of money.
Against my last opponent for instance; I studied him, and saw that he is playing through middle and on the right side. So I put my strongest defence on the left side while I attacked him on the right and through center. I made some mixture of tactics and I took him a ball possession and chances as well. I won 2-1, although I was loosing the first half, but at the end I'm happy with that victory. I really outplayed him tactically. And still I think, that this football engine is almost crackable like ice hockey one, but because of great number of tactical options it's more demanding and thus more interesting, at least to me...

Nice idea! I'm interested in, when we can start? There is only 2 friendly games per week for me coz I play CL at Wednesdays...
That sounds interesting, however, playing only one game on each position would probably not be enough to get something statistically significant. You should possibily play at least 30 games in order to get something. Considering probability of injuries and progress in training, it might introduce some bias in such a long period of time...
Can someone explain how team strength works. For keeper it is supposed to be based on strength of starting goalie. I have a 281 OR goalie. Started the season ranked 22 in strength moved up to 23 and now back to 22. Played each game on normal with same goalie. If it is because of energy level than I think the penalty is to severe for this early in the season.
What if your goalkeeper indicator was at 21.51 ? And with energy lost it dropped to 21.49 ?
The difference is so ... little !
The difference is so ... little !

Well, you're playing on normal, what do you expect? You're losing .4 energy per game on normal, so you're players max energy after 10 games is only 96. It will continue to drop.
It's not too severe at all, it just means you need to manage your teams energy usage better.
