In this game i dont understand why you had more ball possession. He had better mid, witch is crucial for ball possession right?

Who would be the best forward?
Player A: 48 attack 18 shoot
Player B: 44 attack 28 shoot
Player C: 37 attack 36 shoot
I´m struggling trying to understand the importance of the secondary skills compared to the main ones. I couldn´t find anything in the guide that explains this...

We need more information.
What are their secondary attributes? ie. for centers, pass and technique and for wingers, technique and aggression.

Suppose all other things are equal (coeteris paribus) and those three players are fighting to play as a center forward.
In that case i'd need to know the quality of the shooting attribute. If the shooting atty is high, then i'd pick the second guy and train up his shooting. If the shooting qual is low but attack qual is high, i'd take the third person and train attack.
As you can see, i would look long-term when picking the guy, not necessarily who would help the team right now.

from what I've seen, there is no indication that shooting influences the individual matchrating.

I have a player with 64 midfield and 24 defence, but the quality of defence is 99, does it make sense to train him up a bit in defence to use him as a defensive midfielder or would it be a waste of time?
