My apologies Bobby. It was just that Bobo mentioned that this is a public forum and it wasn't possible to have private conversations, you know? I just thought you might want to make your decisions transparent so that everyone can see what you are doing...

It's apparent that other countries tune in to our national forums.
I don't believe it is in our best interest competitively, to let everyone know what our national strategies might be.
If anyone wishes to be aware of what our/my national strategy decisions are, I would be more than happy to discuss them with anyone who wishes to contact me by direct email.
I am always open to new ideas, even from you.

I don't think either of those messages had anything to do with national strategies. They were simply asking why their Canadian-born guys weren't on the team, which I think is a fair question. You say you told them why. This is a public forum. Perhaps others would like to know too...

They both got relatively the same message, that there were players who were a better fit, already selected for the team.

Oh boy... Even a foreign manager asking us to grab his middle of the pack players is now ground for open conflict? Get a grip...

For some one very low on the game you have much to say Samuel. I don't see any open conflict. I simply asked Bobby to do what Bobo said we should all do: keep forum talk open. A lot of people voted for Bobby. I think Bobby should be accountable.

Let's review Samuel. Mat takes over the team and Bobby uses this board to, well, let's be honest, criticize the guy. I don't think much of that especially coming from the guy who wins every election, every year, and never has any interest in letting someone else have a chance. Now someone does and Bobby doesn't like it. Now Roedb gets on the board and asks Bobby to at least be accountable for his decisions. And you don't like that?

Paul, your "gift" seems to be the ability to twist any comment (balloon) into the shape of a fire-breathing dragon.
You may need to learn how to do kittens and puppies before you are allowed to do children's birthday parties.
I have always been willing to answer any question that was asked of me, about the game.
That might be a part of the reason I win the elections.
I believe that leaves me free to ask questions as well.

I'm not someone who usually speaks up, but I have to say this : what kind of kindergarten is this? Yes, it's a game — and of course we all want to do well with our National Teams and win — but at the end of the day, it's still an online game.

Everyone seems angry. Why can't we just have fun, enjoy the game, and support others — especially new managers — so we can grow as a country?

If I were a new manager seeing this forum, I'd find it really discouraging.

I have no interest in getting into anything with any other manager in this game. My comments are pointed, and they are pointed at three individuals. I support new managers that involve themselves with the National teams, meaning the Senior and U20 teams. U18 is different. If other managers don't like my comments, apologies but I am not speaking to them. I am just tired of seeing the same monopoly of national teams that a simple history check on these forum boards show.

Kindly involve yourselves in the international part of the game and take over one of our teams. Absolutely, make the Canadian teams grow. This has always been my point.

If other GMs don't like me, sorry but I don't care. I ran the both the U18s and U20s and finally stepped aside so that new managers could take a turn too. If you don't believe me, do some research and read back through the forum years. It's all there.

I look after the Dutch U20 now, and have done so for seven seasons. The Dutch program is healthy, for a nation with only one division. Canada's program is shrinking, in part due to the domination of the national teams by a select few over the years. I gave up on the elections because having another senior guy running them does nothing to change the problem. Think "pyramid schemes" folks, because that is what this game was built on. Once the new blood stops coming, the whole enterprise will collapse.

Letting ONE (or two) guys run your whole international system is a disaster waiting to happen. If you don't agree with me, then that's too bad. I'm not here to be liked. I am here to compete and try to encourage the newer guys to the game to enjoy the full experience. That is what will keep this great game going.

Sorry if you don't like that.

Think of it this way. The Dutch have 26 teams (on paper), and the U18 election this season was a tightly contested battle between two Dutch managers. Canada has 94 teams, and there was no competition in any of the three elections. What's wrong? "Hey kids where are you...?"

I have indeed made efforts to help grow the game.!
This is a partial list of newer managers that I have sent a two part email to, detailing some of the pitfalls and my recommendations of how to avoid them.
It is not the first time I have done so.
