With the help of wjloewen I have assembled an extensive list of players for next seasons selection. Regardless of whether I get the honour of managing the team for a second season or if someone else takes up the mantle, I feel that sharing the results will help in the task of assembling the best team possible. The results are presented based on my preference of having 4 players per position per age group and 2 goalies per age group.

Avec l'aide de wjloewen j'ai assemblé une liste exhaustive de joueurs pour la sélection de la saison prochaine. Que j'ai l'honneur de gérer l'équipe pour un deuxième mandat ou que quelqu'un d'autre prenne le contrôle, je crois que partager les résultats aidera dans la tâche de sélectionner la meilleur équipe possible. Les résultats sont présentés selon ma préférence pour un alignement qui compte 4 joueurs par position par groupe d'âge ainsi que 2 gardiens par groupe d'âge.


Goalies/Gardiens

For the soon to be 20 year olds, Alan Ashton and Michael Dumont are a good distance ahead of the other candidates and should definitely make the team. If another manager would like to have more than two 20 year old goalies then Tony Thériault , Joel Bossy and Stu Power would be the likely candidates.

Terry Doyon leads the crop of future 19 year old goalies and is comparable to the top two 20 year olds in terms of abilities. Definitely a key player for the U20 for the next two seasons. André McCulloch would have been a good candidate for the second 19 year old goalie slot but recently moved to a team with level 11 training facilities, leaving Justyn Stefan as the only viable choice for the position.


Pour les futurs gardiens de 20 ans, Alan Ashton et Michael Dumont possèdent une bonne distance d'avance sur les autres candidats et devraient définitivement faire l'équipe. Si un autre gérant veut avoir plus que 2 gardiens de 20 ans, alors Tony Thériault , Joel Bossy et Stu Power seraient les candidats.

Il sera sans aucun doute un joueur clé pour L'U20 au cours des deux saisons prochaines. Defence/Défense

Next seasons crop of 20 year olds includes one star player Brayden Nelson and five unavoidable players Jameson Byrne , Brandon Bourassa , Mason McCarthy , Eric Knott and Stone Daigle . The rest of the group can be selected from a group of players ranked slightly lower which includes Johnnie Fotiadis , Zackary Hunt , Montana Clipperton , Isai Brisebois , Louie Shannon and Maximus Hitchcock . Additionally there are a few players with good primaries but very low technique available, I am not a fan of players like these but perhaps another manager might think differently, these players are Zack Hodgins , Domingo Freese , Ryan Chang and Jerald Dionne .

Next seasons crop of 19 year olds includes 3 essential players, namely Simeon Lemmon , Eloy Sweeny and Jerrod Benjamin . The rest of the group can be filled with players among these Ayden Thatcher , Broderick Turgeon , Lionel Philby , Emerson Abrahams , Cedric Angel , Dusty Glover , Dillon Keown , Kyle Bissell and Jason Russell .

Overall defence is Canada's weakest position, our defencemen for both age groups are the weakest OR players on the team. Half of our 19 year old defencemen next season will start with an OR below 1000 and a few of them have very low technique.

En somme, la défensive est la position la plus faible au Canada, nos défenseurs pour chaque groupe d'âge sont parmis ceux avec le plus faible total des compétences. La moitié des défenseurs de 19 ans la saison prochaine débuteront avec un total des compétences sous la barre de 1000 points et quelque uns ont une technique faible.

Low technique and low shot. Defence is indeed the flaw of Canada.

Agreed that it's the weak spot. Don't get too worried about using a low technique dman and use four forwards on the PP. It should be a good year, this group did pretty well in the U18 last season.

4 forwards on the PP is an interesting notion, I never considered trying that.

Centre/Centre

Unlike defencemen, we have an abundance of centres. It would be difficult to imagine the team without Christian Benoit , Juwan Gardhouse and Rylee Leng as our top 3 20 year old centres. Any one of Thaddeus Allman , Michael Everest , Jarad Beard , Walker Alyea , Brady Carrier and Collin Tam would be a good choice for the fourth 20 year old centre spot.

Jarrod McKay and Kaleb Yates have a comfortable lead on the other players for the 19 year old centre positions. The rest of the spots can be filled with some of the following players Garrett Ferland , Stefan Brar , Allen Bates , Curt Atheron , Jay Lindsay , Aidan Dublin and Jacob Devaney .

I use it routinely. I have a couple D with good shot but my other good-shooting D are on the 4th line which can't do PP or PK. I've found having two good shooting D in your top-6 and 4 stay-at-home D in your top-6 works nicely. You can roll 1 offensive D on each PP unit and 2 defensive D on each PK unit. I haven't noticed any significant SHGA while doing this.

Wingers/Ailiers

Like centres we have many options on the wing. Jean-Guy Drost , Kason McCue , Joshua Hogg and Maximus Davies are the stars at the position with 3 of them being left wings. The rest can be selected from Antonio Hardy , Cory Ford , Spencer Evers , Tyler Mathers , Angel Mayer , Théodore Butler , Ayden Dupuy and Hakeem Kenny .

As for the upcoming 19 year old wingers, we again have four essential players in my opinion and they are Doug Dalton , Elmer Corden , Matt Lefebvre as well as Junior Long . The rest of the roster can be filled with some of the following Sam Connelly , Donavan Brabin , Jose Webster , Braxton Braun , Carter Claridge , Ashley Carpenter , Jamal St. Laurent and Ramiro Connaghan . Some forwards with low shooting also exist, but as I have said many times, I am not a fan of players like these. The best of the low shooting forwards are Harry Henry , François Fader and Edward Caskey . Houston Breacker has a good OR but I have serious issues with his current ratios.

En ce qui à trait aux futurs ailliers de 19 ans, nous avons encore quatre joueurs essentiels en mon opinion, ils sont: Doug Dalton , Elmer Corden , Matt Lefebvre ainsi que Junior Long . Le reste de l'allignement peut être comblé avec un mélange des joueurs suivants: Sam Connelly , Donavan Brabin , Jose Webster , Braxton Braun , Carter Claridge , Ashley Carpenter , Jamal St. Laurent et Ramiro Connaghan . Quelque joueurs avec faible tir existent, mais comme j'ai dit par le passé, je n'aime pas ce type de joueurs. Les meilleurs de ce groupe sont: Harry Henry , François Fader et Edward Caskey . Houston Breacker Possède également un bon total des compétences, toutefois j'ai de sérieux problèmes avec ses ratios actuels.

C'est dommage pour Breacker. Il éait un excellent joueur en début de saison, mais le manager de Xenon ne s'est plus connecté depuis début janvier et le joueur a été vendu depuis. Un ailier de gâché...
