Tough loss today. We were up 3-1 with 7 minutes left vs Latvia when we drew two minor penalties. Latvia capitalized and won in OT.

Big game vs Russia tomorrow

I'm crushed. Had Russia beat on tactics but we lost another one in OT.

Canada's U20 National Team is the only team representing Canada at the top level. Both the U18 and Senior team are playing in the next level down (Division 1). Canada plays Germany tomorrow in a do or die situation to remain alive in the World Championships. We're currently sitting in 4th in our group after back to back OT losses:

Russia 5 pts
Germany 3 pts
Latvia 2pts
Canada 2pts

Hope we can keep the dram alive. Special recognition goes out to the following players who are averaging a point per game in the World Championships:

19 year old Dman Zack Bryant (top dman in the tourney)

Big Big Win for U20 NT Canada! We advance to the top 12 in the World after beating out a superior German team. Shout out goes to Frank Lafrance and his two goal game & Maria Forest for coming up big in net.

Our lost against France today knocked us out of the Top 8 and the World Championship. Had we won we would have advanced in the playoffs. I hope to do better next year now that many of our 19 year olds have chemistry and experience.

Being this close with 19yos is a good achievement. Bonne chance next year mon ami!

You can schedule friendlies against senior and U18 teams as well. Just FYI for the future.

I sent out a tonne of invites last night (including Cdn U18) but the above teams accepted first. Last year I had trouble filling our schedule because the election results are a little late and most teams are already full by that point so I wanted to avoid that.

Good good! I suspect the Swiss U20 team I'm an assistant for will have the same issue since assistants can't set friendlies and the head is M.I.A.
