Well Belarus beat Latvia, and we lost in overtime to Switzerland, so we will be advancing to the 8 team playoff. First, we play France, who has won the gold the past two seasons. If by some freak of PPM play, we should get by them, we would play the winner of Czechoslovakia-Russia. Russia won gold the two years before the French. We might need some divine intervention!

All said, not a bad showing in a tough year.

Although we will probably finish 8th, it should be enough to maintain our overall world ranking of 6th.
Time to get after next season.

Saving starters for the tournament.
All starters will be 100% energy and over 90% chemistry for game one.
A little easier start this season than last.

Finland, Belarus, Hungary , and Slovakia are the "target teams" this season.
A good showing could move us past one or more of them in the world rankings.
France and Russia are still out of range.

Only 29 players left to scout, and anybody who is/could be anybody will have been done. Scouting 3 every 2 days. This includes every level of national team player, foreign and domestic. Only those who may have arrived at academies in the last two draws need to be checked. The new plan is to send each of you, at season's end, a list of the players on your team who have been scouted. Many of the top-producing teams have been entirely scouted. All scouted players will be followed until their chances of making any national team are less than miniscule.

Those 200 OR managers be killing it, and killing your bank balance!

We start again tomorrow.
One could hope that getting through the first round would happen; however, anything can happen in these short rounds.
We are more than ready again, with all players at 100% energy and higher than 93% chemistry.

Very satisfying to beat our old nemesis, Poland!

Winning one of our two remaining games would almost ensure that we move on to the plyoff round. Today Slovakia, tomorrow the Czech Republic. We will have a much better idea exactly what is necessary, after today's game.

A 3-2 shootout win over the Czech Republic has put us into the final eight. This means that our overall world ranking should not slip. A win over Finland today would mean we probably play Russia next. It would also mean we would get a shot at some kind of medal. Fingers crossed for luck!!
