You beat me tactically. Just goes to show that the right tactics can make or break a game. I figured it was going to be tight, but never in a million years did i expect that result.
super awesome congrats )

The others have already answered all I was going to say, but the main 2 reasons are energy levels, and more importantly (in my case), the lineup change allows for tactical adjustments. ie. bring on an extra striker if needed, etc.
Plus, subs allow for more players to get experience.

I've never before seen tactics like those used by Slovakia in that game. For the most part, he's shifting his midfielders around every ten minutes or so so the intensity of the attack swings from one side of the ground to the other regularly. For the most part, it doesn't appear to work with Croatia scoring first and Slovakia only equalising just before full time. Once he stops pushing players backwards and forwards in extra time, he scores three goals in 30 minutes although the last two can probably be attributed to the Croatian central defender being sent off.
For what it's worth, I only make positional switches in response to substitutions or send-offs. For example, if I'm playing 4-4-2 and find myself behind at the 60 minute mark I might swap a defender for a midfielder to try to create more opportunities. If I'm playing a stronger team and find myself up at the 60 minute mark, I might swap a forward for a defender to try to protect that lead. Such substitutions would usually involve four or five positional switches as I try to balance up the new line-up.
That said, it doesn't hurt to try things. It may help you spring surprise upsets.

International cup kick-off tonight. Australia is close to getting 8 teams in the comps, up from 6 if we have a good showing this season!
I really need to pay more attention to my team. That was a shocking loss. Losing I can deal with, but 4 unanswered goals... Not good for me.
Unbelievable
Well done!
Second upset loss for TB this season, something must be going on...

70% you guys are getting really good.
20% i've been neglecting my team - haven't done a youth school / training for 4 seasons i think.
10% i've been busy with work so forgot to set up stuff.
But yah... in truth the league is getting much tighter, and with my lapse of attention it's really caught up on me. Now i'm chasing my tail to get my team back up on top.
Oh, and i'm loving the fight

And by the end of this season I think we will have 7 teams with 80,000 seat stadiums... more $$ to inject into facilities after that and better players.
PS: Did we mention the Highlander Terriers (& also FC Atlantic) still haven't conceded a single goal this season

Gratz, I'm enjoying the view from the top too... next match I finally play a team in the top 8 for the first time.
