Looks like 8 spots next season in International Cups so my predictions for next season qualifying teams from Australia:
Champions League
1. Trueblue
2. Beta
3. Prestige
4. Colah (Looks like the decider match on January 23rd against Knights, which I am predicting a Colah win)
Cup Winners Cup
5. Knights
6. GMP2 (no manager)
7. FC Barca (no manager)
8. Highland Terriers!
We will see in 2.5 weeks!

Colah should definitely secure that final CL spot vs the Knights. Game might be tight, but I think Colah has the edge there.
It's a shame that both GMP2 and FC Barca have no managers
I wonder if PPM could make it so only teams managed by real people can qualify for the cups.

I'm sure we have asked and they said keep the rules. Main thing is we don't lose too many managers. As a nation we are starting to become more competitive, but is tough for new managers. Requires some patience especially the first year.
Yeah. I imagine it doesn't help when those newbies play me and lose by 20 goals. LOL
The hardest is once they promote to I.1, it feels like if there is no chance that they could even grab a point from any of top 10 teams. So they go..
The best would be to just have a single second tier league to get a quality competition stronger before heading to the top

We'll definitely be down to two leagues next season.... Bit like when you and I started.
Saudi Arabia still have two teams in the Champions League and we have none so we're not guaranteed those eight spots yet.
Re the strength of the Australian competition, we have a solid bunch of teams at the top of the ladder who can hold their own in international competition. But the total number of active teams seems to be decreasing. We're down to 17 in Div.I. II-1 has two, Brennan and Sant Gervasi. The two most active teams in II-2 (Woombye and Reid) are currently sitting in the bottom half of their table with no chance of promotion next season. Ironically, this could be a blessing in disguise because they would really struggle if promoted to Div.I now but if they can persist for another season, they will be much better placed. However, it probably means we'll see another bot team promoted from II-2. Godsoccer and Tassie Tigers are the best II-3 has to offer although there are another four teams somewhat active.
I'm sure a couple of seasons ago we had four or five teams in each of the four Div.IIs battling for promotion with a few more newbies behind them learning the ropes. The depth doesn't seem to be there any more.

Japan is down to just 9 teams and they have a NT... So hope we get a few more stayers.... Trueblue is so far ahead still

Trueblue's not the problem. Even if we took him out the back and gave him the Underbelly treatment, that would only benefit the next few teams not the newbies

Will Basketball bring in more new Aussie players who might then sign up a soccer team too?
I hope Tylko and SCM don't fold, haven't seen either for over a week.

Basketball's more likely to bring new players in than handball but I suspect it won't make a huge difference. As far as I can tell, a few new teams are formed every day but the vast majority of them never sign in a second time. So either the wrong people are being attracted to the game or first appearances are just too daunting.
I dunno

Parramatta FC 2-0 over Colah Creek
This match doesn't make sense... Parra had someone sent off in the 1st minute too!
