So the redistribution booted out the Spitfires and prevented the Chooks being promoted but then went and promoted the Comechingones instead who also look certain to become managerless shortly. The Tassie Tigers and Adelaide Power also got promoted despite not earning spots directly.

If the Tigers don't log in in the next week or so, they'll also be managerless as will our U17 national team.

And the redistribution reduced us to two Div.II leagues making it a little bit easier not to get relegated from Div.I

I (Highland Terriers) seem to get the same draw every season.... first 3 matches are: Beta, then Colah, then Knights... look for me at the bottom of the league table after Round 3!

PS: Crico - looks like you might be the new manager for U17 as Assistant, if Tigers don't log back.

I hope so. There are limits to what you can do as assistant. You can't add players to the squad and you can't arrange fixtures, two things we desperately we need to do. So I'm hoping if he doesn't log back in, I get that authority or it will be a very unfortunate season for the U17s.

Interesting first round of matches. Based on team strength and player ratings, 19 of the 22 teams are going to be somewhat competitive this season which means everyone will need to be on their toes.

The Knights leapt to the top of the table with a 9-0 thrashing of Comechingones. I know they're a bot team but the Knights have an impressive roster and currently their team strength is higher than Trueblue, who are in second after thrashing Tassie 7-0. That said, Trueblue played an 18yo keeper which reduced their TS and still appear stronger across the rest of the park.

Beta's beat the Terriers with a late goal and the Terriers look like they will be competitive with the top 5 this season. Meanwhile three of the promoted teams (Godsoccer, Brennan and Sant Gervasi) performed credibly away to more fancied opponents and they look like they'll give to grief to the rest of the comp this season.

All teams, and particularly the ones in international competition, will have to be very careful with their energy management.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are just a handful of points separating the top 10 teams this season. Might have 1 or 2 out front but after that it's going to be very close.

I am worried about Energy this year with national cup & cup winners cup looking to be competitive, but my reserves are finally catching up so the B team is more A- these days.

I expect we'll have a very competitive mid table, so quite a few close games.
