Well I guess that I will not be joining you this season. Nytemare pulled the ultimate sabatouge (sp?) on his own team. I feel sorry for the fans who watched that game.
Unless you are prepared to be very competitive in Div I.1, it actually penalizes you with hits to $ and OTR. Which leads to a weaker team and less upgrades to Arena and facilities, essentially a season of regression.
I figure if I can't win my Division 2 playoffs I can't compete with the top half of Div 1 yet.
That's just the facts of the game.

Except I got like $40 million for promoting and I'm not going to lose any OTR at the start of next season. I should make considerably more money this, and next season, due to this.
unless your successful in I.1 you will lose money next season. Consider our 2 teams. 2 seasons ago my team could compete and beat your team, now yours would stomp mine any day of the week.
Well, let us have a look then.
In the last three seasons I finished 1-3 (regular season-playoffs) and 3-3. With me finishing 3-1 this season.
That being said, my OTR has pretty much topped out on me.
I'm at about 460 this season, was 400 last season, and 340 the season before.
The only reason for the jump in OTR this season is that they are giving more for a win.
It used to be 3.5, and it is now 4 (approximations).
OTR loss is what? 30%?
So next season I would lose 30% of 460, which gives me 322.
Assuming 4 OTR for a win I would need 35 (35 * 4 = 140) wins to get back to 460 OTR. I had 28 wins this season.
Now, I do gain about 0.3 OTR per friendly win (we'll say 0.33 for simplicity sake). So every 3 wins = 1 OTR.
Let's say that I win 3 a week. Over a season I'll get 16 OTR from that.
So, from my own little best case scenario, I'm maxing out at 475 OTR instead of the 460 I currently have.
I'll take the promotion thank you very much.

So I only need 5 wins in I.1 to make it more profitable for me than staying in II.2 would be next season.
when you promote you lose 15% of your OTR, thats 69 OR. I don't know how much OR you get per win in I.1, but lets say it's 4.5. Excluding friendlies and the National cup you'l need 16 wins to recover your OTR. So like I said, if you are successful its worth it, otherwise you might make slightly more after your first season, you will start making less the year after that.
And that is to try and break even, which will then mean a 30% drop next season, lower ranking in season finish = lower offers from sponsors . . . and so on.
If you can get into the top 8 and make the playoffs it is a good jump in my opinion, otherwise you are just trying to climb a greased pole.
