I noticed in the last few days that the Defensive strength of my 3rd line is up to 6. Whoa. So, a little baffled, I compared Line 3's player skills to Line 2's to see what I accidentally did right.
If I add up the 3 Defensive attributes (Def + Pass + Agr) on both lines, Line 3 comes out ahead by 4%. But... their Defense is 10% LESS than Line 2. It's made up for by 8% more Agr and 17% better Passing.
So work up those secondary attributes. :>
And for anyone wondering: The better defensive line has the same EXP as Line 2, and 25% less chemistry. And based on raw attributes, Line 2's Defensemen are more skilled than Line 3's, so forwards' contributions count.

And to think... I don't choose forwards for a line based on their defensive skill. Haha. Total accident.
I probably shouldn't give so much info away about my lines haha. Oh well. I don't care. Go ahead and try to use it against me if you can. :>

First pull with 4 players today. Didn't get anybody great, but still fun to get the extra player.
I got three decent-or-better youths in my first Level 8 Academy pull. Two are OR177s who are questionable at best.
The third is an OR221 Goaltender who might be a real winner if my scouts' first impressions are accurate.
Of course, he'd also be my team's 4th goalie haha. It's a good problem to have. My injured starter's OR is 224, my backup just passed him and is 225 (but less balanced), this youth is 221, and the now-4th string (Cardona) is 196. And everyone's got good quality (85+) in at least 1 attribute.

My best goalie doesn't hold a torch to your worst.
Pulled an outstanding Universal Def propect...234 OR 88Q...with a little training he'll be a stud! The other guy is a RD 207 OR 68Q...his build is actually pretty good to start immediately. All in all I'm very pleased and considering my weakest position was RD, I definately "scored". Need to get them some ice time now and see what happens, both are playing in my friendly today.
Your 3rd goalie looks like he's the same as my #1. Having a true elite netminder definately helps. I'm still looking for my Korey Buckley....
We have 2 inter league games on the next round of the USA tourney, Fatsos vs Tigers and Foresters vs Illusion of Progress
The goalie I pulled got himself fully scouted today.
83Q Goalie, 93Q Passing, 94Q Tech.
Now if only his goalie stats didn't add up to roughly 25 points less than my current starter and backup goalies haha. He's weaker than that 223 OR lets on.
Still, he'll be great soon enough.

So 1/2 way in to the season, the top 8 (playoffbound) teams, are 1/2 II.1 vets, and half II.1 newcomers. It's been a tough hard fought season, I certainly believe anyone in the top 10-12 can compete for the title. Look forward to the second half!
