So Broncos sold his entire team for less than 300M! I would imagine a playoff team in US would be worth more. Also, one can imagine how much stronger would he be if he invested his 1.8 billion in players.
Also, I am wondering how much money Purple Lotus has, he was in top 10 in the world some time ago...

Your basketball matches my Handball for the academy
I only had 300 million, with 2 of my best facing free agency in a week. I got the money from selling all the arena and facilities.
Thank you, it was hard this time, especially since I forgot to set the lineup in game 1. Your bench really let you down, if you look at their +/-, they are consistently worse in all the games. If not for them, it could have gone either way. You have a really promising team, I don't know for how long more I'll keep winning.
Good luck to everyone in the international cups, we are getting very close to having 6 teams, probably in a season or two.

I was going to say this league forum is really active, but it seems relatively quiet now. I saw a post a while back asking how long it has been since a new manager joined and stuck around. Well, I have a new basketball team, and I'm planning on sticking around (just around 45 days in) for quite some time, God willing. I am enjoying it, and realize that my team is far behind most of the others. That is OK for me. I'm getting there.
Thanks! It's good to be back at PPM (though I never had a basketball team).
Man, one has to do something with those referees! RNGesus played Yardie Hoopsters, and the game went to overtime. Then RNGesus went 11:8 in OT, but the referee wasn't convinced, and decided on second overtime!!! Oh, the magic of PPM.

I didn't even notice that - pretty brave for the ref to try that nonsense in my house!

Winning 6th National cup in a row! As usual, not without abnormal stat: this time 23% FT shooting!
It looks like I'm going back to II.3 again (unless I lose to the dead team today). It should be a good opportunity to finally move on from the final remnants of my old core from the last 19 seasons. I'll save a lot on salaries and start to get the next generation some experience (though a lot of them seem to have worrisome CL - I might end up have to completely rebuild my roster).
I probably could dump money on a bunch of veterans to put together team capable of being somewhat competitive in I.1, but I'd have little money left to pay UFA's and fill in holes. Instead I'll just add a few more younger (~U24) players and try to rebuild my OTR for a few seasons in II.3.
I did a similar rebuild in soccer and managed to turn a top 18 I.1 team into a top team in the league peaking at 2 (most of the players on that roster are still pretty young and have ~10 more seasons). The one mistake I made was to jump at the chance to pick up a world class goaltender. While I had saved enough to easily afford such a player, the UFA fees have killed my budget after using up my surplus. This time around, I'd probably want to take a little longer and build a bigger surplus before buying such a player (though it probably takes a little less money to build a roster in basketball than it does in soccer). I'd also want to buy such players in their early 20's so I can have the chance to get the discount on UFA.

By world class I meant that the player has one of the top ~5 OR's in the world and happens to play goaltender.
If I were to pick a position that it is worth spending more on in basketball, I would pick center. I've found quality centers with good qualities and good height to be harder to find than players for any other position. I can't say whether my experience holds for everyone else though. Also, centers tend to be key when it comes to rebounds.
