Like I said though... 20-40 points behind my backups. Ie, my bench players. Those guys are anywhere from 240-270.
So yeah, if I got a rookie at lvl 2 that was 165, and one at level 4 that was 200, its quite reasonable that at level 6-7, I could get a guy who is comparable to my current substitutes (ie. 240 OR), 3-4 years younger, and with substantially better qualities.

The older players will definitely stick around for quite a while, though in ~5 seasons, the teams with the best prospects will be in the best shape. In hockey, depending on when a player is pulled, even a 15 year old with 300 OR is usually relatively average.
With that said, the majority of the players pulled from level 5- sports academies probably won't be around for the long run.

I'm betting those starting players (starters not the other remaining crap) will stick in their teams being major players till they are restricted free agents.
so something between 4 to 6 seasons.
In that case, i fully agree with caps. the only reason why i bought the 15yo 200 Or is cause i think i can make some money with him. Chances are slim he is part of my long term plans even though he has top qualities.

Am I understanding the draft properly in that the skill of the player drafted will be influenced by the sporting director and the sports academy?
if by "skill" you mean their OR, yes. if by "skill" you mean quality (AQ), no.
higher level sports academies will have the possibility of spitting out higher OR prospects. AQ is not affected by any facilities or staff members.
It's either random (in the case of regular sports academy pulls), or chained to the scouted potential of the draftees (the letter grades you get).

4D's to me too Talking with me league buds, they have 4D's too
I mean... our scouting is SO bad right now, those Ds could be Bs for all we know.
This first draft is pretty much a waste in my opinion.
Even if you find an A, he might be a marginal player. Even if you find a good AQ player, he won't be worth anything for several seasons.
I'm probably just gonna have the draft auto-pick for me to be honest.

Oh crap i didn't even get a message, saying that the draft scouting started. Time to scout some players.
The Draft is just a waste of my time. i'll find better players in the market....everyone I scouted is either a D or has never pick up a basketball before!
