yeah... that's one of the main reasons that I hate that so many mmo's are so PvP based. Final Fantasy is still one of my all-time favorite series' though because of the depth of play.
I actually have FF VI on my android, and it's my go-to mobile game for airplanes, etc. I love that I don't need to be on my data to play it (an absolute deal breaker for me when it comes to mobile)

I think someone else in this thread said something about that game.
you should look back and maybe shoot them a message.
I tried it, but i didn't like how you have to "wait to play." Energy games just annoy me.

I've been getting in to Civ IV A LOT recently. I'm currently destroying everybody with the Vikings on an island map. It's fun.
I love the Civ games. But they're baaaad. you can lose 50 hours of your life and not even be done with one game lol.
I personally prefer the fantasy swing on TBS though I think (rather than the impressive realism of Civ). That's why I'm looking forward to the new Age of Wonders game. The Heroes of Might and Magic series is another favorite of mine, and even Kings Bounty is good for a play every now and then.

Oh lol. gotcha. I guess that makes sense. I was actually surprised when I thought that two people were posting about it.
It's a pretty addictive little game (probably why the need for energy bugged me so much lol). If it weren't for that, I'd probably still be tinkering with it.

As for recently, I've actually gotten quite engrossed with the Sims 3 (all over again). I know it was released like 5 years ago, and has like 30 expansion packs, but I just think that it's awesome that you can mod it to hell and back, and that you can almost use it as a architectural design program.
Seriously, I spend hours just building houses and designing new career mods for my sims. The most recent career I made was for a professional sports team manager. You start out as a pee-wee coach, progress through being a referee, and then finally work your way up to being the general manager for a pro sports team. I wanted something that made sense for my superstar athlete to transition to after he was done kicking ass and being a superstar.
Not everyone's cup of tea I'm sure, but it catches my interest for periods of time every now and then.

My problem is I don't have the graphics capability to run it properly so it runs at 0.5 speed at best and only when the camera is positioned so it doesn't have to render planets.
The Civ games are dangerous! "Just one more turn..." has turned into hours for me...
Pulled an all-nighter once when I had class the next day. "One more turn" turned into "let's end this war", but then another war started that I had to take care of... it's an endless cycle.
Haha, the problem is that winning by conquest just takes so much longer than space race/diplomacy or maybe even cultural. But conquering is too much fun!
Sid Meiers made some great games. I played the first versions of Civilization, Pirates, Alpha Centauri and Magic: The Gathering.
But those were several years ago. Between 85 and 95.

I sure wish Sid had made a worthy repalcement for RailRoad tycoon. That Railroads crap he put out made me lose all kinds of respect for Sid. *Still waiting for an updated mordern Railroad sim*
Bummer on that Canucks. KSP is really one of the coolest space games out there. I have space stations around every planet and mun now!!
I can get lost building space stations. Look up and it's 2 am.
Speaking of new games!! OMG people you have try The Bansished!! The best city builder to have come out since Simcity 4.

CIV II was by far the best. Still have the CD in my server laptop
hopefully there's none of that "perpetually online" bullshit that killed sims4. I understand the whole copyright issue and everything, but I really hate that you seemingly always need an internet connection to play new games.
I mean seriously... it used to be that if you didn't have internet (or FAST internet), because you had either just moved, or were poor or something, that you could always bust out the games and play.
So sad that so many otherwise decent games don't have off-line modes.
But then... we've already kind of discussed and killed this discussion in this thread. I'll definitely look at Banished, because outside of Tropico 3, I haven't played a decent city builder in a little while now.
