I didn't see one, if there is one, sorry. Anyway, we have any gamers here? What games do you play? What are your favorites? What are your Gamertags, PSN ID?
I am addicted to GTA Online... although it's buggy it can be a blast. Can't wait for the heists, should help it out a lot... I hope. My gamertag is "MWej54"... message me if you would like to play, always looking for people to game with.

I got the Diablo 2 bug really bad back in college and it almost destroyed my future. Ever since then I've kind of sworn off video games to a certain extent. I'll still play the odd computer game every now and then, but I actually haven't bought a console system since my ps2.
I still do sports management stuff (fantasy sports) and PPM obviously, but I try to keep myself from getting too addicted to anything.
PPM is nice for that, because there's only so much that you can do with it each day.
If I have a vice at this point, it's probably the stock market (I guess I've "grown up?" ). I don't gamble or day trade or anything stupid, but I often find myself captivated reading news and analyzing balance sheets, macroeconomic trends, forecasts, etc.
Some people come home after a long day, crack a beer and throw on GTA or Call of Duty. I come home and read the news and watch CNBC.

I game but I always am reading MSN news after logging out of my email, lol. It is weird... when I was younger news bored me, now I am actually interested in it. Ha.
As for the stock markets, I never got into them. My cousin is addicted and monitors them super close.

Honestly, once I got big into fantasy sports, I realized that hardcore fantasy sports is really similar to investing.
I don't know if you've ever gotten into fantasy sports, but basically, you estimate a player's value and future performance based on indicators and past performance. That's pretty much what people do when picking stocks.
Now I use a lot of the same models (with different variables obviously) that I used for picking players in fantasy hockey/football to picking stocks. I find it infinitely more interesting than fantasy sports (since investing wisely is actually a productive use of my time lol).
Instead of betting on great, long-term performance from a promising young hockey player in my keeper league, now I'm betting on great, long-term performance from promising stocks.

But to the original topic of the thread... In the past year, I've dabbled in:
(PC)
- guild wars 2
- path of exile
- tropico 4
- diablo 3 (I beat it and then never played it again... it just doesn't have the same allure as d2 for some reason)
- deus ex: invisible war (my favorite fps game to sandbox in or re-roll)
(PSP or mobile games)
- Disagea 2 (this game is seriously infinite... absolutely awesome)
- Puzzles and Dragons
That's pretty much it. Like I say, I haven't really touched console games in a while. Though I do get the itch to play star ocean, shadow hearts: covenant, final fantasy, ncaa football/madden, and gta every now and then on the old ps2.

I actually tried that game swords and potions yesterday for a bit. I like how it's a twist on the classic rpg (you're the shop keeper instead of the adventurer). To be honest though, it lost me when it made me either pay or wait to keep playing (after the 11th day or something).
I hate games that do that. Seriously loathe them. I'd rather just pay 20-50 bucks for a game that I can play however, whenever I want... than have a "freemium" game which cripples you into having to pay, and pay, and pay, and pay.
If you ever played dynasty warriors before, you should check out it's mobile phone tower defense game. Pretty fun, lots of unlockables, and lots of gameplay (if you want a game that can last you for a while).

I'm pretty much the same as lanky522. I've never played Diablo 2 before, but I used to play too many games and now just play a few sports management games since they are fun but can be played with minimal input for the most part. I haven't purchased a console since PS2 and I've pretty much gotten all I could out of the games I had for that system.
Even so, I still like to play Civilization IV from time to time. I also like to play an online game where you sail around the world during the age of exploration to buy and sell stuff and discover things every once in a while.

Civ games are actually pretty fun. I was pretty big into TBS a while back (heroes of might and magic, age of wonders, etc.). But those games are a HUGE time sink. My girlfriend would probably kill me if I were to get back into that genre lol.
What's the online game called?

First big time suck for me was Mater of Orion. Then it was Empire, Space Empires IV , Baulder's Gate and Icewind Dale. Then I just cut out playing for 2 years.
If she ever breaks up with you (or you get tired of her ) check out Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes from Stardock. It's basically a new and improved version of Age of Wonders or the Fall from Heaven mod for Civ IV. I've got 267 hrs into it, and I'm not even close to feeling done with the game yet. It will probably be on sale for about $15 or so during the Steam winter sale coming up soon.
They are definitely a time sink - that's why I only start a new game once in a while now.
The other game was called Uncharted Waters Online.

Any RPG fans here? Elder Scrolls series, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, etc.? Those were my time sink (especially Elder Scrolls games), but now I only really have time for fantasy sports and of course PPM.
I recently got into Skyrim. I can never maintain interest though, since I prefer multiplayer games, so I'll normally do a couple missions then go play some Halo or Battlefield.
