I agree, Taverse/Vanek should be a great combo. My argument is simply that if they cannot sign Vanek before the deadline, (and I am sure they will do everything they can to get him signed), they can move him at the deadline and get a 1st and 2nd back. All they lose is Moulson, a player that wouldn't be re-signed anyway. If they do sign him, they have upgraded from a good player in Moulson, to an Elite player in Vanek.
It's a bit of a gamble, imo a good gamble to take though.

Hahahaha yeah, I remember when I first started playing this game, those 50 days couldn't come earlier when I bought a player whose unscouted Qs showed like 80s and then he's scouted to have 50s.. That bastard has to go!
Yeah it's a gamble but I still feel like the Isles gave up too much. It's risky to think that replacing Moulson with Vanek will put them into the playoffs while their biggest need is a top-4 d-man.

For a goalie who has serious confidence issues, especially when playing away teams. I think he will be shaken for awhile.

That was actually the most entertaining trade deadline I've seen in a while. I actually enjoyed watching the TSN Tradecentre
