What is the point having a few gems among 50/100/... D valued players, when noone will pick D-players?!
Who would risk picking D players, when there are 1 or 2 players among 100 D-valued?
The only way D-valued gems will be picked are:
-gem player is somewhere a top of the list, so the first offline manager will automatically pick him, if the gem is at bottom of the list, he wont even get a chance of getting auto-picked.
-even less possible option is, that all managers in certain league decide to pick only D-valued players, and even that doesnt guarantee that gem will be picked, as there are more D's than there is pick X rounds available.
"they are just disguised A or A+ players."
Why dont you disguise all players then? That would be really interesting - interesting as having draft every second week.
My point is, if I scout Player1, P2, P3,... and I get values A+, A, B or C I know where I'm at. And if I scout D, I don't know that, because D is D and gem is gem.
Managers deserve to know if a player is a gem if they scout one. Rethink about that.

Well, this looks like you scout a player and he looks like a clown but few days later he turns into athlete. This happens in real life like Mesi getting expencive shots and med treatment in Barsa or Bale getting strong and fast in couple of years. In this game it might be interesting to see a player at age of 18 or 20 getting a diamond by his name with accelerated traning.
It is not our intention to make it a complete lottery. But we didn't want the draft to only be about the first round. Like in real life we wanted the later rounds to produce some Datsyuk's and Zetterberg's from time to time. It won't happen every draft, but sometimes you can get lucky.
I would also like to point out that not all gems will appear as D players. They can also appear as C players although not that often and under some circumstances even as B players.

Look at it this way, when your scouts went to check out the player he maybe had a bad day or slight cold so he performed bad, average at best.
The club still decided to pick him for whatever reason and only then he happens to show his true power and potential.

I have a question. How come my keeper is down to 99 in energy after two league mathes (one normal and one very low) and two friendlies. That should be 0,64 spendt in energy. What am i missing here?
It maybe wasn't your intention, but you did just that.
Well, if gems aren't just D's, also B's and C's, I got a proposal... what if B-gems are visible after 1st round, C-gems after 2nd, D-gems after 3rd?
This would work in hockey/soccer as there are 5/4 rounds. In handball and basketball gems would be visible after 1st round, as there are only 2 or only 1 round.
As it is now, its just pointless.

That would be valid point, if scouts were to observe all potential rookies only once - but I'm pretty sure Zetterberg and Datsyuk weren't spotted with just one visitation, instead they were observed for a longer period of time and thats how they recognized their hidden, not-yet-"shaped" talent.
